      • Player agents feeding talents to the Japanese, Korean and Taiwan leagues are finding it easier to pluck prospective Asian imports from the UAAP and NCAA than to raid the PBA ranks.

They 100% deserve it. If they had enforcable contracts, maybe players would stay. Its something we really need anyway, professionals before 5/6 years in college.

Wonder how will UAAP/NCAA schools counter this trend, They could pretty much do nothing right?

the school can ask the ballclub for a fee - for all the benefits the player received while he was part of the varsity team.

That would require player contracts as well as the entire facade of the UAAP being an amateur league being thrown out the window. Dont know the repercussions of this.

FEU and Ateneo were fine with their players leaving early, though.

As for the other schools, I dunno yet.

                        • obviously QH, PBA and SBP are too foreign about the idea of player’s playing abroad..

studies can finish later in life.. lots of athletes are doing this..

My guess is Quinito is thinking less about the PBA and more about La Salle here.

well, by analogy, we can use the situation of scholars who opted to not finish their studies in a particular school and decided to leave or transfer. the school asks these scholars to reimburse all of the benefits they have received during the run of their scholarships.

i know some people that were under this set-up.
