Let's be honest. The Asia Cup won't simulate the necessary environment for him to grow and figure out his weaknesses. The competition is way way way below NBA level. The players are not nearly as tall athletic or skilled. The playing styles and rules are different. He needs to play against NBA competition. How is he going to adapt if the "solution " is to look good against lesser competition? Hell he'll probably pick up more bad habits for scouts to nitpick on

Dominate is too much to ask. At best he'll produce like 2009 Japeth with several highlights for them content creators, but I don't see him dominating the World Cup or even FIBA Asia for that matter because that depends entirely on the level of opposition and who else will be on Gilas with Kai. I'm willing to bet that if Youssef Khayat (who's younger, more efficient, and more suitable for the modern game than Kai) plays for Lebanon at FIBA Asia, Gilas ends up 3rd in the group and has to deal with either Iran or Kazakhstan for the right to play Australia in the quarters. So much eyes on Kai that anything less than a dominant performance will be like getting scammed: A year in the AAU circuit, trained a bit with G-League Ignite, 5 games with Gilas, a full season in the NBL, NBA Draft workouts.... pota tapos in 20 minutes a game, he only does 9 points on 36% shooting, 6 rebounds, and maybe an assist? Let's stop hoping that he garners attention. At this point, it's just about improving to a level where he figuratively drives the bus for a team instead of just being treated like a side show to sell tickets and gain youtube views.

what I dont get from the Kai management team: they could actually sign for the the Summer League then eventually not sign any contract offer , be it 2 way or g league. They could just let Kai play in the summer league which only run for 10 days, which is good for his development. After the stint, they could look for better contract offers or return to the 36ers. Bell's alibi seems to neglect the part that Kai is still under the 36ers..

I just don't think Team Sotto are in this pinch to look good in front of scouts. They're probably waiting for checks in the mail with contract offers. Also, let's not kid ourselves with this idea that he needs to play against NBA-level competition like that Netflix movie. Besides, Summer League has the latak of NBA prospects who might not even make it to the G-League with the attention on the lottery picks before training camp. We've already seen Kai's game on full display during garbage time in the NBL when the 36ers were already out of the top 4. If the FIBA Asia level is that much lower, then Gilas should have no problem taking care of Australia and New Zealand with Kai on the floor regardless of the other four players he's with. There's really nothing more he can add to his game other than consistency and intensity on both ends.

yikes, though already 20, Kai is still not in control of his basketball career and it seems his inner circle are making short sighted decisions and are unwilling to sacrifice, or they dont have confidence that Kai can secure a NBA contract hence this current path taken by Bell and EWP
