Kai Sotto has committed to play for Gilas Pilipinas in the near future, deciding to skip the NBA Summer League.

Sotto went undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Sotto’s agent Joel Bell said to PlayItRight TV that he already received multiple invites for Summer League but the 7-foot-2 Filipino opted to play for the national team.

Sotto will also not take any two-way contract or Exhibit 10 contracts this season in the big league, according to his agent.

I'm sorry , but I hope by now , we are more discerning of the reasoning Bell mentiones. He is really not credible.

1. Reason for declaring entry is cause he received interest (false, there was no decision to make)

2. Reason to stay in draft and not withdraw is cause of guarantee a team will draft him (false again he can't withdraw)

List goes on and on , he was not voted by teams to invitation for elite camp and Combine for none other than he simply did not get enough more votes than 100 hundred others.

I can't quote anybody so I'll just say this. I do not agree with the Gilas move at all, he should take the SL invites and the Exhibit 10 contracts. I think Tacko Fall got into the NBA that way. I'm more frustrated with this than Kai going undrafted because it's a similar move that happened in the past. It is like Kai is not learning from his mistakes.

Unless he improved leaps and bounds then dominate the NBL, if his agent is telling the truth wouldn't that leave a bad note on NBA teams about Kai Sotto rejecting their offer even it's just a Summer league spot.
