Who knows...Kobe might get a contract somewhere in western countries.
Or he needs to be let out to have break-out games. I think he's capable naman of such.

        • Sam Josef Belangel getting lots of Twitter mentions from Korea Hoops observers. His team Daegu will lose its starting PG (also a starter in KNT that played in Clark ) because of military obligations . And his replacement, also an KNT member , is capable of sliding to the 2 spot. Meaning SJ will most likely start at 1 from the get go.

Dave staying with Ateneo. His dad had a lot to do with the decision, believing that he needs more seasoning under Tab. Personally, as long as he is getting playing time, KBL can also be good for his development. A conservative decision if you ask me.
He needs to learn how to score against Soencer But yeah the KBL can teach him more than the UAAP. But staying with Tab is not a bad thing.

I see. That game indeed was the audition for SJ. I guess they saw something good because it didnt feel he played well in those games aside from the last second 3.

                Give Spencer some respect. Hahahahahahaha.

But yeah, he needs to learn how to shake off stronger defenders who are just as quick as him. That will become more common as he goes further in his career.

There's also the playing time factor. He will get playing time in Ateneo, but if he makes a bad impression in the KBL, he will be buried in the bench. Dad probably saw that he needs to improve on a number of aspects (ex. Decision making), which is why he recommended to play it safe and stay in Ateneo

Next season is Daves last season

And after this season, Dave's only 22, so it shouldn't be too bad for him. He still has room for improve should he go abroad.

                      • Matt Aquino included in the large 39 man Japan NT Pool again. Since PHL is lacking bigs, can we still recall him? LOL.

They have an even smaller pool of players to choose from. So it really says something that they were able to produce a guy like Watanabe. The guy is not extraordinarily athletic. If they were able to put a guy like him to US NCAA and then the NBA there is no reason we cant.

Japan NT is also in transition. Outside of their NBA Duo, they have an aging pool. The next gen talents, mostly hafus are not yet ready.

                            • PBA instead of protectionism should copy the template of other Asian league and NBL Australia in order to have a fresh and strong basketball league. It starts with leadership change, Marcial has to go and replace with some one aware of modern day basketball.

First things first, how practical is it for the league change to a regional format? They can always do what EuroLeague teams do and add the commercial sponsor on their teams’ shirt / name.
