Yeah, I read. That leaves Perez, Wright, and Bolick from among those I've mentioned.

Kaya ayun, if amateurs wanna go Korea, go PBA, MPBL, or even Filbasket.

B League, I believe. Teams go as high as $5 million in salary cap.

        • No offense to anybody here and I'm still open to a draft-and-stash idea (in fact I think I'm the first one to suggest it on IBN for Kai), but my confidence towards Kai being drafted is skyrocketing. This will shock a lot of naysayers for sure, especially those in most forums who thought in the beginning of the NBL season that Kai wasn't NBA material but think other Asian prospects like Lee Hyunjung and Yeo Jun Seok are (no offense to them, I just think Kai is much better). And there are a lot of naysayers. Looking back at other boards who were so low on Kai is so vindicating to see. When Kai was signed a lot of Aussies didn't think he would be able to measure up to the NBL's level, now look at him.

I think the absolute clinic Kai put on the Maker bros just this last game cemented my belief that he will be drafted.

Arana, Dave, Tamayo, Baltazar, Abarrientos, maybe, then Wright, Bolick, Oftana? Perez has the talent, pero you know SMC.
the beauty of this scheme is that this will force SMC to spend more to keep their superstars and their prospects. Let the evil empire overspend to the point that RSA and their stakeholders, the Cojuangcos etc. will realize that it is no longer feasible to keep all this talent

            • I think this MOA is PBA's way to prevent college players from being recruited by the KBL and prevent them from leaving to Korea. The only eligibles are those PBA scrubs who are not under contract. One less competition for the PBA.

Of course there is a way to circumvent this ruling, like sign with MPBL, Vis-Min or FilBasket first for a short contract. then play in the KBL. I think GAB already classified the 3 leagues as full professional leagues

The rule also protects the KBL from FilShams by basically allowing the PBA and other leagues to do due diligence for them.

                • if players like the following are to play in the PBA:

                  QMB
                  Xav Lucero
                  Remy Martin
                  Kai Balungay

Are they to be considered naturalized Filipinos? Or full pledged Filipinos with Dual Citizenship?

What is CStan's and JMalonzo's classification?

                  • TEAM's ENTITLED RIGHT TO DRAFT a eligible player

My position to be specific is Kai cannot make himself ineligible or unavailable for teams to draft him in 2022. There is no process that can take away teams entitlement to draft a 2022 eligible player. (None whatsoever).
"". Of course each eligible player can discourage teams from selecting him, but this is not the same thing. The right of selection is owned by the team , not by Kai. Kai has the rights to refuse playing or entering into a contract however.
Hope that is clear , it's a simple concept .

Note a 2022 eligible player is still available for selection in the 2023 draft if NO team has signed him prior to the 2023 draft.

                      • Auto Entry vs declare explained

Note the wording language used for Zeng's entry " decided to enter" , yet in technical terms Zeng is automatically entered ( former US HS student who turned pro)

Upon signing with Ignite "Chinese basketball prospect Zeng Fanbo has decided to enter the NBA Draft in summer 2022, according to his agent Liu Jiacheng" .

Technically speaking by deciding to turn pro ( with Ignite as a former US student) it actually is correct to say Zeng decided to enter next draft by way of his decision to turn pro in 2021.

As far as other pro leagues are concerned, they're not as strict as FIBA (like the passport before 16 rule) just as long as they are dual citizens so the term "naturalized" would only apply to Kouame, Blatche, and Douthit unless their league follows FIBA eligibility. You'll have to go insider deep to find out if others already have Philippine passports, but the fact that some made a UAAP/NC roster... they most likely had their schools process their passports for them. PBA is a different story. Unless they somehow played college in Manila or Cebu, I could argue that everyone in the PBA who wasn't born here still doesn't have a Filipino passport, but we can't judge them if they somehow obtained theirs. It's much harder to fix a passport today than it was in the 2000's.

                            • Kai Sotto has 6 options after his contract with Adelaide -

                              1. Play as an Asian import in B.League
                              2. Play as an Asian import in KBL
                              3. Play as an Asian import in Taiwan
                              4. Play in G-League
                              5. Play in NBL NZ
                              6. Play in NBL1

The PBA should be the last option.
                              Attack
                              defend
