Would you blame EWP if providing insurance isnt feasible? The cost for that one is astronomical. Drew leagues dont pay insurance but the guest players were just few. How can you get clearance from the teams if superstar yung player? Just remember it was really too difficult to get clearance for Clarkson to play for gilas.
They were banking that it was for 2 games and prior event was a success. EWP and Smart had all the right to organized such event unfortunately NBA teams didnt allow it yun lang yun.
There was no intention of fraud or to circumvent anything. Paying insurance doesnt make sense business wise.
Pero branding EWP as fraud or a bad organization is really too much. It is like your school org organized Parokya ni Edgar to play in an event but here comes parokya's manager halting the event. For sure EWP did try to get clearance for players maybe for some pero for sure no na yan kaagad same with PBA gov saying no for gilas loaning.Last edited by PeeZones; 02-23-2021, 11:29 AM.

Ignite was always high risk/high reward and if that was explained to Kai then the decision makes sense. High reward since its the NBA and they want Ignite to succeed. High risk since its new and the NBA doesnt have the record of a Calipari/Coach K of developing players.

No withdrawal.
The only possibility of withdrawal is an exception, (like hasn't played a game, but that's doubtful he will get an exception from the NBA
1. is gleague outside of the NBA? if you think about it, g league is under the jurisdiction of the NBA.
2. does scrimmage considered as played?
3. are we sure he can't withdraw his name if he is indeed included in the list?
as mentioned before this is a new case. we can't know for sure he is in the 2021 draft.

'The List' refers to early entrants, those who declare early. Not players who are automatically entries or eligible. For the latter there is really no list. That includes everyone who is made available for the draft automatically based on their status, e.g. For US based players (CBA definition) those who signed a contract with a US based team.
Don't confuse the list of those who declare and enter early with those who are automatically entered like Kai
Kobe Paras was not on the list in 2018 as an early entry, but was available to be drafted, just like every 22 year old in draft year in the Philippines

Are we all overselling Kai?
YAO MING at 18yo-19yo was playing and averaging about 20ppg / 12rpg in the CBA
While with consistent NBA Mock Drafts, Kai’s competition is putting up actual game numbers and results:
Usman Garuba, 19yo (6’8 / 230lbs / Real Madrid)
Garuba is playing enough in the euro league right now, his current LIGA ACB averages: 3ppg/3rpg/1bpg on a 13minutes per game showing.
Alperen Sengun, 18yo (6’9 / 220lbs / Besiktas – Turkey Superlaegue)
Sengun is an 18year old dominating his own country league, 19ppg/10rpg
Turkish Superstars can’t wait to send him to the NBA for their own sake I guess…
Hoping EastWest Private is doing its job for Kai – that they already gotten an (under the table) NBA TEAM Commitment for KAI
(hello Houston? say Spurs?)

This is a small summary of what happened. The last event prior to this was awesome. This one was not and the players and organizers got humiliated. I dunno if it's true though that EAST WEST already knew but still went ahead with the event.

1) delayed arrival due to lockdowns

3) fractured his hand
more than the bleague, unforeseen circumstances and terrible luck has contributed to his stock dipping.
