Anyway, im sure there are still sleepers and unknowns drafted in the recent years that were not listed in the consensus top 100 of mock drafts? Correct me if Im wrong

      It's 58.picks, 2 forfeiture

Yes there are sleepers but a very very low rate, litterarally 1 % chance. Meaning for evey 2 draft years someone is drafted outside the top 100. So yes it is not impossible, but super rare
The sleepers normally have never played a year in the US , so are not well known , unlike Kai who is very well known by NBA teams due to Ignite

          • Early entrants list vs eligible class year ( kai 2022)

This is verification proof of the CBA applying it's rules showing those who are automatic eligibility (1. 2. & 3 below) DO NOT declare for the draft

            1. US NCAA players who have exhausted college eligibility years
            2. International prospects who turn 22 yrs old
            3. US high school players who turn Pro

Note the none inclusion of the following on the list requiring to declare early entry
            1. There is no one who has exhausted college years
            2. There is no international prospect with a DOB of 1999 or earlier ( born 1999 turn 22 yrs old in 2021)
            3. All the Ignite players - Green , Todd, Kuminga, Nix are not on the list (they DID NOT declare )

Would be ignorance to ignore this explicit clear application of the rules

              • the NBA is slowly coming back to a big man's league, with embiid and jokic the top 2 players in the NBA today and for years to come. skilled 7 footers with professional basketball experience are still hard to come by. And with the way players come in and out from dleague with 2way contracts --- kai will most likely get a look next season whether he is drafter or not. he will also be invited to summer league.

                • this is the ESPN mock draft released today ( limited to US NCAA players)
ESPN's Jonathan Givony and Mike Schmitz predict what the 2022 NBA draft could look like if all 58 players came from college basketball's marquee event.

You can not honestly say that there are 50 players in the mock ( 58 total to be drafted including international) that you can find and say Kai will be picked ahead of .

                    • Historically, majority of the those being drafted into the NBA come via US NCAA route.

                      • A total 353 players -- 296 players from colleges and other educational institutions and 57 international players -- filed as early entry candidates.

Oh link was broken. Fix link above, this is common knowledge stuff .
There is an early declare list
                        And
Those not in.list are automatically eligible to be selected without declaring (period)
It's silly this well accepted rule took so hard for some to even understand and accept

There is no such thing as a player who is in the eligible draft class that has an option to declare or withdraw. (None at all, that's for the ignorant).
When EWP says Kai is eligible for for 2022 draft it means none other than he is automatically eligible without declaring and cannot withdraw

If this is not the case, then the official early entrant draft list is pure nonsense. The.NBA is fooling the public and player and agents with pure nonsense stupidity

                        • There actually is nothing to wait for , even if for some unique reason Kai is exempted from how the rules are applied. And he defers entry . This does not change the fact that the rules are explicitly clear and applied to everyone else consistently.

                          Comment

                          • Last Year, that unique reason is "Kai is not 1 year remove from hs" (But actually, it is also in CBA)

And if Kai will be able to defer, what does that mean? Rules are applied to everyone except Kai???

Anyway, for me, it doesnt matter that much. I believe Kai will be drafted or/and signed in Nba this year. (JUST MY personal opinion)

                            • Exactly it's all in the CBA.

The basic principle is if one is eligible to be drafted
for the year . He does not need to declare (period ).

Kai can potentially be not eligible for 2022, if he is classified as an international prospect (like all the next stars this year ). The problem with that is it contradicts EWPs statement that he is indeed eligible in 2022 and they explain the basis why , he studied in the US as student athlete. (Consistent with the CBA rules)

                              • Revealing info point that Kai cannot defer

                                Here is the other thing.
If Kai has the option to defer to the 2023 draft, which will logically increase his chances with an extra year to get better. Then the natural consequence would be is that he would be registering higher in 2023 Mock drafts compared to 2022. The reality is he Is NOT. (Think hard why this is , and why he is not even listed in 2023?)
Do note Dieng is actually ranking higher in the 2023 draft than he is for the 2022. ? Why, because obviously he will be better with an extra year of development. .This is both revealing and speaks volumes of the reality difference between Deing and Kai's status . Which is Dieng can defer entry Kai cannot!

Dieng 19th in 2023 draft (higher than 2022 mock). While Kai is in top 106 in 2022. But not found at all in 2023 list of 132 players (where he is not eligible)
Full 2 round 2023 NBA Mock Draft. Victor Wembanyama is the prize at the top of the 2023 NBA Draft with Scoot Henderson no.2. NBA Mock Draft
