  • Mocks are not even 95-99% accurate in predicting the lottery picks, and not even close in predicting the rest of the picks.
There are too many factors and behind-the-scene happenings with the teams, agents and prospects that mere mortals like us and mainstream journalists are not privy to.
However over the years, collectively the mocks have become a reliable tool to monitor an NBA prospect's potential to be drafted and progress/decline within the 1-2 year(s) leading to the draft.

My opinion is only as good as anyone here, I still believe Kai has an outside chance to be drafted this year so long as he continuously improve this season, then anything could happen during draft day.
In the words of big ticket, anything is possible!

Getting drafted this year is good, but the dream for me is to see Kai having meaningful playing time in the NBL (20+ mpg), being depended on by Adelaide as their main big, how fast Kai can improve, and if he will be comparable to or even surpass the likes of Zhou Qi and Haddadi in their peaks/prime in time for world cup 2023.
If these happen, everything will fall into place and playing in the NBA will just be a natural progression of Kai's career.

    • Absolutely mocks , even consensus collations are not accurate in determining exact draft order or even those who will be drafted late in the 2nd round. (Accuracy is like fifty fifty from pick 40 to 60).
What is super accurate however at 99 % rate is those who are actually drafted are in the ratings radar of top 100 . Especially a top100 list done 3 months from draft .
It's actually not at all difficult when you realize choosing 100 players who can make the 60 to be drafted actually has 40 % room for error . Doesn't have to be accurate at all . To get it right

It absolutely is the case specifically for Dieng as he was as high as a 11th mock pick prior to the NBL season. He really doesn't have to show much to be guaranteed to be drafted given his high ratings. (he can actually stop playing and he will be drafted like RJ and Lamelo stopped playing in Feb ) Yes it's not worth the time to further debate as it's a forgone conclusion already (basic common sense really)

        • Note RJ Hampton who was drafted 24th just played 15 games in total, during which he averaged 8.8 points for Breakers.

Dieng will likely average 9 points for his last 15 games easily.
Dieng is likely to be drafted at least in 2nd round easily

Well no fucking shit, the Philippines isn't exactly known for producing nba level talents and obviously needs to try way harder to make noise(with substance) than other proven nationalities. Only numbers will prove Kai's worth and that will come with time, Kai even if he has a 20 point game tomorrow doesn't really have enough games under his belt to make his case yet, "sustainability" is the name of the game, let him produce decent numbers in a relatively injury-free career(I'd say at least 2 years, less if he's really exceptional but I'm guessing more 2 or slightly more). The ego warriors here honestly need to just sit tf down, like faggitgram and urinezone, let the kids career grow organically, it's not a source of your fragile national pride, too much small cock energy.

            • Sometimes too much fanaticism clouds your judgment which leads to unrealistic projections for Kai. The truth but realistic projections is that Kai will likely NOT get drafted because he has not shown good numbers. You add his numbers to that of his nagging deficiencies in defense and absence from the mock drafts.

You're as irrational as a depressed labandera, no wonder there are people making it a culture to troll the shit out of the dickriders here lmaooo. I would find it funny too if you dishwashers aren't ultimately harmful to Kai or any other half decent players that would come out of the Philippines.

60 picks out of possible top100 ranked prospects actually has 66.6% room for error at worst possible scenario not 40%.

Anyway, im sure there are still sleepers and unknowns drafted in the recent years that were not listed in the consensus top 100 of mock drafts? Correct me if Im wrong

                    • It's quite common sense actually, Kai’s been inactive for like 2 years, his ratings prior to the NBL season was essentially unrated prospect. (Not in top 100), so much that he was rejected as a next star.
So obviously he has to put the a number of quality games to demonstrate his ability to get into the radar
His 150 min of NBL game time is underwhelming highlighted by his deficiencies in defense for the NBA

                        • Its hard for Kai. Theres so much more of a need for wings and guards than a traditional big. Most teams have only 3 traditional bigs.

If NBA is really his ultimate goal he really should train extra hard to get noticed by teams that need the Brook Lopez and Jarret Allens, quite a congested path tbh(because there are very little options). Still there are many more opportunities outside the NBA, his goal is to just maximize himself, that's the only thing that is certain in his career no matter where the game heads and which trends prevail. His career isn't a crutch for astifaggot's internet reputation.
