So dpat at least UAAP level or NCAA then what if givony doesnt really play bball? What do you make of him?
Just a question, do you think you are the only one here who always play basketball before and knows the skills of a good basketball player? You also stated that you can tell a good basketball player when you see one, why not start developing youths in your place or town and maybe they can reach UAAP level in basketball. Don’t be just a judge(can tell a good player if you see one)but a person who developed that good basketball player..

    • I hope people appreciate both the coaching and player trade, training 2 times a day , almost everyday for like 7 years straight , coaching actual games whether they be a premiere high school or college level, or being exposed to FIBA preperation , doesn't just happen .. with not gaining significant insight into the game.
I'm not saying those who have this experience have exclusive knowledge of the game and can't be wrong .. while others outside don't know anything.. but certainly those who have actual experience first hand have a different perspective not available for those who don't have the experience.
Its like any trade in life.. experience and exposure matters

You don't have this credential : SELF CONFIDENCE

This guy PeeZones has lots and lots of it

        • it's fine to disagree/ differ in opinion with Givony w/ respect to Kai but to suddenly say/conclude he is NOT AN EXPERT in his Field of Specialisation and trash his Body of Work just because he failed to include your-our favorite player in the mock draft is just lame and ridiculous. I get it some here are disappointed in Givony's mock draft but to declare that Givony NOT AN EXPERT and then question his credibility or ask for his basketball/playing credentials ( as if this is a requisite) and what not is laughable...

same with random posters on the internet, who are blinded by their homerisms/fandom

random internet dudes could also be right or wrong in their assessment of talent

same with random internet dudes, they could be right or wrong as well, but what makes experts much credible would be their years of experience and the manner of which they analyze stuff.

no different from a phd holder/md holder and a random internet dude who got his knowledge from google search

Agree. But that guy makes his living scouting prospects so his words has more weight IMO. Majority of randoms like us never even played college ball. Besides what do we have to lose if Kai isn't drafted in the lottery?

                • You could all cling your assessments with Givony and it is your choice. The fact remains that he is most likely doesnt play bball and he has a penchant for athleticism. He has a hard time evaluating skills but rely on statsheet for it.

You should also do self evaluation when you all trying to label those who appreciate kai's skills as pinoy baiting.lol Stick with your preferences and we will stick with ours. In the end, Givony's assessment isn't absolute and if it were consensus comment by real NBA personnels then I would be worried. He is just one writer like skip bayless or quinito henson. I dont base my opinion on anyone. I will formulate my own opinion.lol

brilliant reasoning ! coming from someone who accepts as true and propagates PeeZones' evaluations/well researched scouting report/ top of the line basketball analysis/ and high quality tale of the tape Kai vs X player comparisons.

PeeZone Basketball Credentials (straight from the horse’s mouth) :

“I only play pickup games everyweek prior to the pandemic.lol I played since 10. Played against commercial players sometimes in mini local tournaments. I know a good player when i see one."

I agree with the need to improve on his defense. Need to improve on his strength, i think that's common with kids his age. Kai will eventually get there. I'm not sure what was meant by improve on his passing ability because obviously, he has that. If that meant work on the accuracy so to limit turnovers, i see that but i think that's also common among young players even if they're guards. Face up game, yeah and i think that's more on because his dribbling skills is still a work in progress. Is kai passive on offense? I won't call him being passive. It's actually one of his positives, he's a team player. He looks to involve his team mates and that's not being passive. Kai sees the defence and reads it. It's either he creates for himself or for a team mate or pass up for another play to develop. Kai is unlike most prospects, Kai needs touches but not necessarily a lot of attempts.
Hmmmm. There is a thin line seperating

                      Aggresive and Ballhog

                      Also thin line seperating

                      Passive and Unselfish.

Anyway, Kai is more of a Team Player. Hope Scouts notice that.

I am sure some nba teams are intetested in Kai Sotto as of this moment.

And if Kai is invuted and participated in combine. There will probably more teams noticing him

What separates me from your idol is that i diligently follow Kai eversince he was 13. He cant even spend 3hrs just to check on Kai. Givony doesnt even know how to recognize skill.

What is wrong with Pinoy as a whole? We are too enamored with foreigners that we lose our identity as a nation. We take foreigners opinion as the holy grail. If you are that kind, then shove it to your throats. I'll stick to my opinion. You should convince your friends because it wont affect mine.

I'm just wondering how it goes, who pays him, who commissions him for those works? Would that be NBA teams, the NBA itself? Some other entities?
Draftexpress was a free website but I guess he earns a lot from the advertisements in his videos and webpages. Nowadays I think he's employed by ESPN? Not sure though.

I agree, they wouldn't be trusted otherwise.

Though I will say, between a PHD/MD holder and a random internet dude who just uses Google, the gap has definitely lessened. I've seen farmers who manage money better investing in the stock market than actual brokers themselves. Shocking, but it's true.

I guess Draftexpress got hired by ESPN? The same way YT channels like House of Highlights and RDCworld got hired by Bleacher Report, who also works for ESPN.

I admire your tenacity PZ w/ respect to Kai. Just stick to the issue -why inject Pinoy Nationalism card, thats another issue that will debated on & on if someone bites and contradicts you

Issue is : you questioned Givony's basketball playing credentials. Your position is Givony has no playing credentials therefore he has no "K" to be a NBA draft analyst. (this has been rebutted reasonably by the opposition ) Thats why I asked abt yr basketball credentials ?? Bc you seem to believe deep in your mind that you have a great basketball mind and that you are great basketball player evaluator. Altho you did not expressly say it you are implying you are better evaluator than Givony bec. you have some sort of basketball playing experience starting at 10 yrs old and you followed Kai's journey since he was 13 years old
