Kai popping on ball screens. Hope he launches at least a 3 point attempt this game. His freethrows look fluid as always, although a bit flat.
I’m happy that Kai’s getting this much burn. I hope Coach Bruton doesn’t tighten up his rotation on the 2nd half. He should though, if he wants to win this game.
Someone here said that Emmanuel Malou is ahead of Kai in the bigmen rotation? So it's Bairstow, Johnson, Humphries then Kai rotation for the 4 and 5 position. Withers playing the wing position..
Did someone say that at start of season? I think someone mentioned Harris unexpectedly breaking into the rotation.
36ers 2nd unit defense is better when Harris is on court
Hawks bigs totally outplayed the 36ers bigmen, no 36er big shot 50% from the floor today - DJ was the best" at 42% followed by Bairstow with 37% while Kai ended at 28% (2/7 FGs)
Froling brothers put on a show, Harry with 27 pts (8/10 from 3) and Sam Froling with 18 pts (61% FG) , 8 rebs, 5 assists and 1 block
Carl Tamayo should watch Harry Froling's style of play..
Harry is like a taller version of Belga while Sam is a taller more controlled version of Standhinger. For me Kai has a passing score in offense but he needs to toughen up in defense, not to be press to deep inside the post allot of times example like what Sam frooling did to him including the in your face jam. And he needs to challenge more the shots always try to raise his hand and jump to block shots. Not lazy on defense.
Same weakness - defense. Kai is trying to defend although he slacked in some instances.
Overall, decent game for the kid.
decent on the offensive end, he didn't get any blocks today, wondering if that's because Sam Froling is so familiar with Kai (having played each other in the FIBA U18 and U19 tourneys) or because the Hawks bigmen are very agile, athletic and fast that they preferred to beat Kai off the dribble?
Kai’s recent play merits at least 6-8 minutes of playing time even when Humpries returns. I know it’s crowded, really, but I think they’re better off managing the load and minutes of their other 3 veteran bigs, most esp Humphries. Save for the horrific fg%, he looks promising on the other aspects of the game. And more importantly, they ran some plays for him. He actually had quite a usage rate tonight (he touched the ball a lot) and for that his 0 TO sticks out as a very good positive.
Going 8/8 from the line is a good indicator that he has the potential to be a decent 3 point shooter, at least at par with his TSF efficiency. I wanna see how he does going downhill in this level, which would be a lot easier if he is a threat from beyond the arc.
Never look too far ahead. You might stumble on a block right in front of you.
The FTs is good news for his shooting, since a good FT percentage is a good indicator of future outside shooting development.
He'll need to work on D, though. That's just a matter of experience and strength. He'll have a lot to make up for in that regard.
I think Sam Froling just really has Kai's number he just knows how to beat Kai's defense, I think Kai is very effective against a back to the basket type of big like Jawal but just like the last game vs Hukporti he really can't keep up with athletic and mobile bigs
Kai really needs to improve moving his feet on defense and really do his best not to be push inside the paint to much by lowpost players. Offense is a passing score for me and good job on free throw shooting. As the commentator said, he has allot of potential which is what scouts in NBA wants to hear. Allot of potential comments is a good sign.

I think 10-12 mins is quite the possibility
Not sure if a good stroke from the FT line automatically translates to a good perimeter game, Kai's lack of outside shooting is not just challenged by his stroke but moreso of his tendency to jump forward before releasing his shot
Kai was a minus 15 in 13 min he's a minus a point per minute. Which is around his average in the NBL. (Minus a point per minute).
The coach CJ needs to figure this out, how not to be outscored when Kai plays.
From a development growth perspective the PT is excellent for Kai and you can see the improvement
