KAI has never been mentioned by the NBL as a NBA prospect
Kai was mentioned and evaluated here. And it is all about NBL nba prospects.
Givony will not assess him if he is not a prospect.
Anyway, 2022 nba draft is only 6 months away. Not that long to know.
And yes, we are all basically guessing/predicting(nanghuhula) hereLast edited by mathematicianrcg; 12-22-2021, 01:15 AM.

We don't have enough games to assess Kai yet especially when he is fresh from an injury.
But from what i've seen in NBL so far, I don't see why a certain 18-yo "prospect" is being hyped up so much. While you can say he is averaging nearly 20 minutes per game he's playing for a team rotting at the bottom of the standings and averaging 3.6 ppg, 2.4 rpg and shooting 20% from the field/ 10% from 3pt WITH -0.75 win shares and -2.35 PER yes the last 2 stats are NEGATIVES.

Rightfully so Dieng's high ratings (12th) is really being questioned , if he doesn't address the concerns, he is legitimately going to free fall and will likely defer entry by not declaring "early entry " international prospect.
1st time I've seen Kai mentioned as a prospect in an NBL associated media.
Although was mentioned last, but at least mentioned
The outlook is similar though ,he's not a prospect for 2022. Maybe 2 years
"Givony on what Sotto needs to show: I could see him staying two years (in Adelaide)."
I still haven't seen anyone associated to the NBA or NBL categorically say Kai is a prospect for the 2022 draft (None) sso further qualification (mentioned as a 2022 draft prospect)
Hopefully he's not eligible for next year as per EWP, so he can defer.Last edited by DAdmiral; 12-22-2021, 04:00 AM.

As for Kai's status.
We are all not sure.
Govony also said whats wrong of Kai will enter if he is 20 or 21. Felt like he is not considering Kai as automatically entered

Google Advertisements Young Filipino talent Kai Sotto has signed a multi-year deal with the Adelaide 36ers this season and after missing the teams first four games made his NBL debut against the Cairns Taipans this week. The 18-year-old played 10 minutes and filled the box score, showing his versatility with 1 point, 2 rebounds, 2...Philippine Malditas to FIFA Womens World Cup 2023

Lamelo ,Hampton etc survived the NBL and made it to the NBA. Is Kai made of lesser stuff? There are those questioning his toughness and strength. Playing in the NBL and showing he can hang with the big boys would answer those questions. Also isn't that supposed to be his big advantage against weak and soft Chet who can only play against college kids? Playing against tougher competition will only hone Kai.
