  • Humpries hasn't looked healthy since, he's actually played limited min. The surprise has been Bairstow play .
So if Humpries never gets heavy minutes (Over 25) I think Bairstow is the player that would benefit most in terms of PT.
(Note I'm not saying Bairstow will play center..CJ will just play Bairstow with Johnson and at times Withers together

Having said that, if the 36ers fall our of playoffs contention early , I think that when Kai will get more minutes as CJ wi be looking to next season

He's still a valuable young asset for the 36ers 2 or 3 years from now
Yeah, Kai still has more to improve upon. The closeouts, I think he'll learn to anticipate them as he gets more experience.

He just has to focus on the other stuff. Rebound, protect the paint, try not to get pushed as much (he has the mentality, but not the body), set screens, make good passes. The points will come for him.

The game looked somewhat like a larong barangay, honestly, with the fast pace, bricks, physicality, and some bad decisions. Is NBL basketball like that every game?

Humpries doesn’t look right earlier. Looks like he’s playing injured. Wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the injury list sooner than later. Kai’s rest of season outlook is good. 2-3 win loss start could go anywhere, but however which way, Kai needs to earn his minutes that Bruton’s hand is tied to playing him more and invest on his speedy development.
he did good for a limited pt. he will surely get better.

Yeah, about the closeouts I am sure it would improve through experience. For now, he has a lot of “stay home” (at the paint) tendencies to overcome.

            • it was an OK performance.

even before zhou came to nbl, i have always argued here that he should be d first barometer for kai to match and later exceed in order to become a legit nba player.

he's not there yet, but sometimes progress is a slow process for some players.

if d progress continues, he can still be a legit nba prospect.

Kai is ADL's best defensive big and rim protector. Most agile and athletic big and at least 2nd or 1st best passer.

That scoring will come. It is very clear Kai could impact the game on both ends. Di bobo ang real scouts. At least kai is showing he could be a very good defender even at 19 against pro players.

Then pano di gagamitin si Kai ng ADL analyze?haha kung si kai pinalaro ni CJ against Deng and Zimmerman for sure mahihirapan yun. Yung Tahjere ilang kay Kai. Daming times lulusot pero di tumuloy. Yung DJ and IH grabe sobrang lame ng depensa. Si kai di pa fully assimilated sa offense dadating din yan.

Even if Bairstow becomes the main beneficiary of an Isaac Humphries injury, Kai will still feel the domino effect given his proximity in the depth chart and bigs’ rotation pecking order. I think he’d get 15-18 mins court time which should be more than enough to move his draft stock needle.

Cairns had a very sound gameplan. The coach played the match up so well and Cj was clearly outcoach. Taipans played their most athletic and fast bigs against slow DJ and IH. He then designate Jawaii for Kai but boy we saw how our boy fared. Kai didnt back down and gave a good account of himself. Akala ata nung Taipans kaya lang mamain ni Jawaii si Kai.haha

How was Dieng these days analyze? He was obviously non-impactful all these times and we couldnt even recognize if he was playing or not.

I dont even think Kouame will make the Lineup.

It would probably JC or any Wing NP( if there will be New).

But if AJ will be there

I will prefer Twin Towers in the Court.

Rotation of Bigs would be between Kai, AJ, Kouame, and probably another PBA big. (Japeth or JMF) (Assuming AJ and JMF healthy)

No, I will not benched Kai if that is your question.

Bairstow have a bad game too this game.(scoring wise)

4 pts only with 2/9 FG.

He have 5 rebs and 2 blks though.

                        Kai have 1pt, 3rebs, 2ast, 2blks, 1/4 FT.

I agree with Jamskie, IF IH is injured, and will have less mins. It is a domino effect. Giving Kai more mins.

nbl game is fast pace with physicality. game is fast that next thing you know it’s already finish.. what you saw is 2 of the worse teams in nbl(36ers and cairns).. when you watch the likes of SEM phoenix, perth, illawarra and melbourne you’ll see the difference

I've not seen any other league that allows as much pushing and pulling. Barubal masyado lol parang backyard basketball sa gawing Mindanao
yes.. try to watch more nbl games not only 36ers games..

But if he fails to get his scoring going, wala na syang gana maglaro & his rhythm & mood changes a lot. So I don't expect Kobe na if he's struggling offensively eh he would compensate by doing other things like defending, rebound, hustle, etc.
Checking the boxscores he was inserted back into the starting lineup, played 27 mins the 2nd highest minutes on the team, score 7 point on 3 -12 shooting and never attempted a freethrow despite his physical advantages. It's not like the opportunity isn't there. He's not playing for a contender and they can afford to give him all the playing time and shots that he want. He's just not delivering.

                                The coaches assessment
                                "KAI'S a PROJECT, a 5 to 10 min tops. Is spot on.
Considering this was a blowout game.

If we put it in this context our expectations are rightfully tempered

The next star players are key RESERVEs 15 to 20 min guys, (like King) different expectation , those are NBA prospects

Kai's min are similar to many (not all) development player level (like Harris)
