A team.does not need to use a draft pick to sign Kobe
I know that, but can Kobe enter 2022 draft if he wants to. Just for the sake of recognition of him being first Pinoy bord to be drafted

Based on Eligibility rules a player can be available for selection for no more than 2 drafts , so theoretically yes ..2021 and 2022..

However I've never seen a similar case. As a team no longer needs to use a pick to sign Kobe , assuming his draft year was 2021.

And which team you think would draft Kobe? Maybe you meant undrafted? In that case, he is not the first. Even I went undrafted, technically.
Never look too far ahead. You might stumble on a block right in front of you.

Me too. I got undrafted in NBA draft 2000. And also 2001. I am technically UFA and never declared my retirement from Basketball yet.

For Kobe, Dallas is always a chance.

And why would Dallas waste a pick on someone who can’t even dominate B League? Marketing? I think if Dallas was really keen on doing that they would have had done a long time ago by not passing up on Parks.

As much as I am a Kobe fan, I don’t share your optimism of him getting drafted in the NBA.

            • No way Mavs would waste their selection on a player like K. Paras.

Agree. Ray Parks is the superior player unless they're really aiming for marketability. Heck I'll choose Papa Dwight over Kobe in terms of marketing and he's way better in bball too

Yeah, written expression can be a declaration. Declarations are oral or written.

It's an "or," meaning declaration is merely one of the options for draft eligibility.

                  • Walang katapusan ito. Siguro kahit 25 na si Kai, then hindi pa na da-draft, this discussion will still persist.

                      e.
With this post I think you finally understand how it works, I'm assuming you turned 22 yrs old in 2000? And obviously you did not apply or submit a declaration letter of entry.

Now just for argument sake let's assume you're a hidden talent , the onus is on the NBA team to have good scouting and know about you and all the details like Age , school etc to ensure you are eligible to be selected in 2000.
It's the team's responsibility to contact you and check if you're amenable to be drafted and play for them

I'm afraid it is looking very likely we will have a similar type of response when we talk about Kai's chances this time next year.

LOL hehehehe I saw what you did there ...

Malou not only getting activated but playing 15 mins just shows us how far down the pecking order Kai is insofar as the 36ers bigman rotation is, still I can't wrap my head around why at the ripe old age of 19 the kaiju is taking too long to recover from a sore knee, a sore knee is a club med type of injury --- its nothing serious!

do note Malou had same reason for DNP's knee sorness, yet was activated and played 15 min like nothing happened..
it's really damn if it's serious or damn if it is not. either case is not good for helping his chances for teams wanting to draft him..

Until the next Philippines' NBA prospect appears.
