I think it is a very far-stretch for Kai to win the NBL's MVP award, maybe a Rookie of the Year is a possibility but Kai needs to improve drastically(defensively and motor) for him to achieve that..

So why is it that Spain's Usman Garuba who is also an international prospect was always included in the way-too-soon or early 2021 NBA mock draft? Did he declared early like in the year 2019 or 2020 to be always included in the way-too-soon 2021 NBA mock draft?

Possibly a late first round draftee if he'll win the NBL's ROY award. Isaac Humphries averaged 6.9 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.0 blocks while shooting 58 percent in 16 minutes per game, making six starts in 26 appearances and was subsequently named the NBL Rookie of the Year(2017–2018 season)..

I think I know what video you're talking about. First sa listahan after searching lolz.

Their derision for Kai is a similar kind of derision that Peezones and Astigram have for Chet haha. Except that a lot of people on IBN value international derision more than our own, iniinternalize kumbaga. This type of "superiority complex" has been there since Kai first played on TSF. I'll just enjoy their tears when Kai gets drafted.

Kai shouldn't listen to these people. Like the great Frank Kaminsky, recipient of the Big 10 Tournament MVP award said, focus on proving yourself right, than proving others wrong (this is not a fake quote, this is from his interview after he scored 31).

Agreed. ROY for me is achievable for Kai.

MVP, I don't think so. Thats is a Stretch.

If he win Both ROY and MVP same time in NBL. He will be drafted 1st overall next year. Lol.

Anyway, Kai winning ROY, imo will be enough for him to be selected atleast First Round Next year. Maybe early 2nd round.

I think it's what is communicated as intentions, if a player is like a Luka phenomenon the intentions are clear he will enter as early as possible, with Seagun without an impressive season under his bealt at time of mock most writers will guess he is likely to wait and defer entry. (Not unless he has a breakout season that changed his decision to go early)
I am almost certain if Kai had a good season with Ignite , his camp would insure he would be eligible for last draft.

Bottom line is this if Kai is indeed automatic entered for 2022, it is looking highly unlikely currently that he will be drafted in 2022.

So you are insinuating that Kai will underperform in this year's NBL season? We can't predict what lies ahead in the future, unless you are Madam Auring or Rudy Baldwin..

Of course rankings and mocks are just but prediction estimates (supposedly educated guesses) . All I am saying is based on all the factors available to the multi assessors and "predictors (yes they absolutely are forecasting predictions) , the common and consensus prediction "currently" is Kai is unlikely to be NBA drafted in 2022.

His projected performance in NBL 22 factors his team's roster construction, where Kai will essentially be backing up 2 marquee bigs. , With this likely opportunities relative to where he is currently assessed (Note people have seen him in Ignite and Gilas/ FIBA) is not favorable for his stock to drastically rise to a level where he will be a legit draft prospect for 2022. Yes that is a projection , not limited to myself, but the "consensus " outlook considering the factors /info available currently. All I'm saying is it is the "consensus" prediction for Kai currently .

It actually is not underperforming if expectation is for Kai to slowly develop over 2 or 3 years as planned. But if expectation is to be drafted in 2022 then yes the projected limited role in NBL 22 is not likely to drastically change his low current rankings to a level that he will be considered for the draft next year

                      • Interesting. So did Matt Aquino choose to be a Japanese citizen like Yuka Saso? Kasi I don't think Japan would use the naturalized player spot on him.

It is said that Matt already possessed a JPN passport since he was 8.

                          • On the NBL level vs NCAA.. topic, the NBL has some decently competitive preseason games vs NBA teams a few years ago. I do not see the top NCAA teams being competitive vs NBA teams , even if it's preseason. Just saying

Check out the full game coverage of the New Zealand Breakers from the NBL in Australia take on the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2019-20 NBA Preseason! ✔ Sup...

Here is the thing , the Breakers for example have players who litterally play vs their NBA conterparts for the ful year previosuly. Like Scottie Hopson, (who once scored 50 pts in the G league affiliate of OKC. so the awe is really not there. When u see Lamelo , giddey essentially having similar NBL stats as their NBA stats. it has a level of confidence that the their not competing vs totally different animals. they're all the same guys who compete regularly in the same gym ..

                            • No B-League games for 3 weeks making way for the FIBA Qualifiers. Shiga's head coach is returning to Spain for the national team. I'm hoping the same happens in February with our Japan based players for our Gilas games.

Correct. Aquino chose Japanese citizenship, meaning should he be chosen by the national team, he will be playing as a local.
