LOL we're making a fuss over an unverified headline (not content) , that doesn't even provide a definitive number , other than Multi million raw... with no body of contents to elaborate. (how easy is it to just mention some more detail). let's just wait for a confirmed definitive report from a verified media source ( it's so easy for the NBL to confirm the report) ,. if confirmed , then no argument at all, no waste of time.. just wait na lang kung meron

The point on what to offer Kai is not whether to ask for.more , who wouldn't, but is an estimate of what his market value looks like .. based on sources, nothing more.

How can we believe you when you were always insisting that Kai would earn around 100k? That is too impossible if I am EWP. I wont take anything less than his last contract. Your 100k is very far from the 400k minimum that Kai would be getting.Last edited by PeeZones; 08-11-2021, 08:52 AM.

The ignite contract was for a season, came with a college scholarship and had no strings attached. Add to the the fact that when Kai signed up with them, the ignite games were supposed to be exhibition games. So, essentially, Kai was getting that money and scholarship while playing a few exhibition games and then he'll be free to go. With Adelaide it's a 3 year contact that sets them up to a possible "need to buy out". That risk in exchange for 200k?
300,000.00 US Dollars = 409,185.43 Australian Dollars 200,000.00 US Dollars = 272,774.76 Australian Dollars
1,000,000.00 Euros = 1,598,308.47 Australian Dollars This would have been for 3-5yrs with euro teams but he was too raw at 16.
I really dont care about Kai's designation or on what category he will fall. In the end, what matters is the amount of his salary because that would indicate his value from professional teams standpoint and not just mere fans.lol Kai was offered more or less a million euros when he was 15 or 16. It is not impossible that he would get 2M AUD at 19. Adelaide has been reposting articles of same news outfit and related companies.
Kai is earning at least 400k to maximum of 700k AUD. 500k USD is not far fetch and impossible for a full season for Kai. I didnt really expect it to be that big. I was just thinking that it would be equal or a bit higher than his ignite contract. The only difference is that NBL season is longer and that might justify the much bigger pay.

Because 2 mill 3 years, would indicate that Kai's level is higher than LAMELO/HAMPTON or his level is simply comparable to other Marquee players like Landale.
The Adelaide 36ers have announced that rising young Filipino talent Kai Sotto has signed a multi-year deal with the club. The emerging talent will join the team from the 2021/2022 season.
The fact that the official NBL article states na they want to develop kai means na his contract is not as valuable as you would suggest. Also if it is really multi million, the official article should have just stated it as well.
Australia’s NBL basketball salaries can vary wildly depending on your skill level and player designation within the league. But with so much international appeal, the NBL has quickly become one of the most attractive overseas basketball leagues in the world. Its overseas basketball wages are high, c
This post sad, which probably took a lot of time/research to make would have been enough for everyone to reach a sensible conclusion but somehow because of another article, it easily swayed your judgement into delusion.
Not a kai thread but his "multi million article" was discussed.
I have already said that NBL would increase salary for all players across the board. If you cant understand then be it!

That article is too old. you should check the dates. I posted recent ones.
headlines and url link contains multimillion-dollar-deal. multi year deal was also in the caption but they mentioned several times the amount. I wont agreed with that typo unless it would be corrected. That mistake is too glaring for a news site.

Grabe, so moving forward when we will have debates in the future then I know na talaga na pointless ka kausap. I have a good idea on the type of conversations that you bring talaga. From our past conversations to reading past posts of this thread
1.) From blaming the SBP
2.) Bashing tab
3.) Bashing prospects
4.) Saying that Kai is superior to a Euroleague center
5.) Insisting that Kai has stamina and can play extensive minutes in a fast paced game
6.) Saying that Mexico is the best league in central/south america
7.) Saying that the Mexican League is not "far" to the Euroleague
8.) Insisting that a SRP contract is worth more than a Next Star/Max Import
9.) Insisting on the 2 million dollar 3 year deal which would make Kai the highest paid NBL player on history
Again, this are not false information. People can simply look back to rich history of this thread and the King's cup thread. You are quite frankly a pain in the ass to talk to man. We all are kai fans here more or less, the problem with you is that you are an Extremist. Is it not enough to be happy for Kai for his contract in the NBL? Can we appreciate Kai without shitting on prospects? and so on?
Kai has NBA potential no doubt and he has performed extremely well from the ACQ, Tune up game against China and the OQT. Sure he has some issues with stamina and strength but he can easily fix this. Kai has a great opportunity in the NBL.
1.) He will have 15-25 mins of playing time
2.) He will play in a big oriented physical league
3.) He will play in a completive league
4.) Adelaide has a great development plan set for him
Plenty of positive things to look forward for Kai, Literally if he will have decent numbers lang guaranteed na 2nd round pick siya or better yet if impressive siya he can be picked as high as 15th. Pero dude, tang ina don't be delusional man. Especially on the contract, be objective naman. Dami nang tao nag explain to you about the nature of the SRP contract from the articles to the testimonies of Australians. You only read what you want to read and acknowledge what you want. Otherwise there really is no regulation on how many players u pay the max pay, (and this is what they're trying to avoid for parity and not just have the rich teams horde all the best players money can buyLast edited by DAdmiral; 08-11-2021, 10:23 AM.

News this big , Asian player gets max. Should be out in all the publications and especially the official.NBL site. Just wait for it once confirmed
Why don't people just rely on what is verified already in the NBL website , all the estimate range per classification are all listed verified there already. No need to speculate. There are reasons for all those rules
Those same.verified rules and estimates are what management provides prospects with when discussing offers, same was communicated to myself and Kai's camp. This are standard stuff.
No one is stopping from offering Kai more , just use the right classification, if he is paid like.a marquee player then he should be classified as a marquee player , so it's fair and transparent. (Walang daya).. just sign him appropriately as an open import, as simple as.that .. like they did HugoLast edited by DAdmiral; 08-11-2021, 10:37 AM.

Based on their roster
It shows that Kai is the only center behind Humphries but of course I don't fully know the rotation especially with the new players signed but based on aussies it seems like the majority have Kai as the backup big to Humphries.
Either way if Kai does not get enough minutes, then he will never be drafted this year. I do hope that my projection of 15-25 mins of playing time will be right.
