  • Actually, in this year U19 Kai would be the best big in this current batch. Kai could already take Ballo this time. Kai with stand all our opponents bigs mani nalang yung si ballo. I was even predicting that Kai would be at least best big this U19 or could contend as MVP. Pero most likely we cant surround Kai with a decent team around him. Lebron and Kai will be our U19 pillars if we participated in this tourney.

good for lopez, but kai in U19, with all d pandemic restrictions, would have meant no kai for OQT.

Kasalanan ni KD at ng mga idiots coaches who thinks that bigs would be flowers and tagarebound. US hasnt produced really good bigs in a long time.

In the end, skilled and imposing bigs will always be dominant as long as they could defend. Come playoff they show their worth because it is about matchup in the playoffs.

kai will have one season of pro ball to get stronger and polish his game and will have pro bigs to mentor him, significant improvement is likewise expected.

needless to say, kai's NBL season will make or break his NBA stature for 2022.
Unless Kai regresses heavily, he's sure for the 2022 NBA draft.

Chets trajectory would be a stretch PF. His body frame and bones isnt built to accommodate more weight. He needs to be as lanky as Garnett and KD to be effective. I wasnt expecting that he would be this slow.lol he will be way slower if he adds more weight.

US NCAA competition is also way competitive than US highschool. This tournament exposed his capabilities against tougher competition.

at his age, there will be no regression to speak.

it's more on how significant d progress he will have a year from now.

i expect gilas to play in 2023 WC with kai having one season as an nba player.

Heck he's shooting less nga. And even though he supposedly has 3 point range he rarely takes them.

Defense and rebounding should be a centers priority IMO. Leave the shooting and ankle breakers to the guards.

Required na talaga these days that bigs would be skilled inside and outside. You cant just concentrate with post plays. You need to have everything but also you need the heft to survive the wars underneath.

Yun yun wala kay Chet and Victor. I havent really check victor's legs if he could still handle additional weight. Di pwede na bigs 6'11pataas would play like KD. You also need post plays. We have seen Porzingis went useless with his playstyle in the playoffs these days. Tama talaga yung sa Europe that they train their bigs to be Sabonis and the likes.

                  • @spidey it would be impossible for kai not to be drafted. If chet would be drafted, kai will surely be taken. Real NBA scouts knows worth and talent.

I will predict that Kai will be taken ahead of Chet next year.haha what is the point of predicting when it is already obvious.

Kai is several breakout games away to be a lottery pick. I said this before and ill reiterate it. Sayang yung OQT DR game breakout game na sana. Kaya im ranting against our guards. If they send just 5 more assist to Kai, magmumukhang joke sila givony with how chet has performed against turkey.

                    • For me, the best big center skills, that is very applicable until now, are those that can do the following -

                      1. Knows and can do the fundamentals of posting
                      2. Understand boxing-out and position rebounding
                      3. Has great short and mid-range jumpers
                      4. Good passers in the post
                      5. Very good Free throw shooters
                      6. A good anchor on defense
                      7. Decent shotblocker.
                      8. Knows how to screen properly.
                      9. Decent to good PnR defender.

NBA already have these kinds of players in their history. There are a lot of them actually, and they are effective regardless of any change of games.

Kareem, Cowens, Ewing, Duncan, Robinson, etc. to name a gew. I guess, without the need to include 3pt. shooting in his skills, Kai will be a valuable asset as long as he had the kind of skill set these legends bring to the table.

Ofcourse, having a 3, is a good bonus to have.

I was confident about my take about Kai and Chet eversince. It is just sad that Kai believers were maligned, trolled, and harrassed countless in these forums. That at a point even including our real lives. We should just respect each other's opinion.

These days Kai being compared to NBA allstars or ATG is already not considered blasphemous.haha Kai would only get better as he age.

                          • Let us all be friends here. No need for toxicity and bickering with our egos. We are heading to our best bball years ever. It would be great to meet each one during our gilas games soon. We will drove in hoards like what England do to support Hatton. Just imagine the atmosphere.

Bro, Kai covered all those traits. Kudos to Ervin and his team. They have done their homework. Kai is a product of years of development and hardwork. We should expect another great big in the pipeline. RDO recently posted a pic of 13yr old Hudor Jr and he is way taller than Ranidel. Hudor Jr with Kai will be a sight to see. 26yr old kai and 20yr old Hudor. If we keep this talents intact, we will dominate asia and be significant in the world stage.

Hoping that SBP would change hands soon. MVP group has lost the support of almost everyone. We need a uniting governing body. Let us start it with our first homegrown NBA player.

I think Kai's range so far is really Mid Range. He can shoot 3, but not as consistent as his Middys.

Kai have a favorite move in the OQT and 3rd window. Faking a Jumpshot and then driving. It will be effective if Kai's Jumpers are falling.

Kai looks like a System Player. I mean he plays within the flow of the system.

On other aspects, Passing and Rim protecting, and Rebounding, Kai showcased glimpse of brilliance.
