  • They never paid junmar to make 3point shots. They muscled him up to destroy 6'5 pba midget centers. This is very effective as no midget center really stopped junmar. San miguel has batya-full trophies to prove that very boring predictable post attacks of junmar work 100% in the pba. Junmar was never paid to develop mohile and distance shooting skills that will be useful against fiba nt frontliners.

Fajardo and aguilar will be useful only when tab perfects sets for pfc tandem post attacks. The gilas nt is not yet there.

Looks like it. AS long as the preceding paragraph it was referring says " the player was categorized as a local in FIBA competitions". So its looks like the likes of:

      RayRay Parks
      Kobe Paras
      The GDLS
      Dwight Ramos
      Dalph Panopio
      AJ Edu

Are all eligible to play in the B League
And REGARDLESS OF CATEGORY. So that means our NPs like Dray, Ange, and Kuya Marcus are eligible as Asian category players. Which makes sense since even naturalized Japanese also fall in this category.

      • I think Junmar has a decent mid-range jump shot, he just doesn't do it more often. Well as you mentioned, bakit nga naman titira pa sya from mid-range kung pwede naman nyang kalabawin sa loob against 6-6/6-5 local bigs in which he's unstoppable?

That is perhaps what Leo Austria is telling Junmar
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

The only time that Junmar changes his shots is when he faces Slaughter, you see some midrange shot, since he just can't push his way against Slaughter, against Aguilar too who is more agile and can easily timed and block his shots.

          • In my opinion Kai can preserve his upper body. It's his lower body that needs bulking up, ala-Yao Ming with "tree trunks for legs" ika nga ng mga NBA centers. If he can bulk his lower body up, he can make up for his high center of gravity with lower body strength.

Yes. A few months ago he had a video making over 50 percent threes from all 5 3 pt positions.

Well, sayang that Junmar isn't able to display such capability in actual games. Its a wasted skill

                • Kai had some 3-pt attempts in the rematch vs. Korea. Though he never hit one, we all know that 3-pt shooting is well within Kai's capability. I bet coach Tab didn't mind seeing Kai took several 3-pt attempts.

And I'm confident Kai is going to hit those 3's in actual games soon.

First game, he took only 1 3pt shot which he missed.

Second Game, Back to Back Plays, it is designed for him to shoot an open three. He had good looks. But it didnt fall.

But yes, eventually, it will go in.

I want Kai to be able to get to the rim strongly and finish with a dunk, though it's what's really expected of players his size and skills it really shouldn't surprise anyone when he begins doing it on a regular basis.

Those "get to rim strongly and finish with a dunk" would be a lot easier if Kai develops a pretty decent medium range jumper & 3-pt shooting. As we can see, Kai has a pretty decent handles/dribbling for a 7-footer. Such aspect of his game allows him to drive or slash which was in display in that first game vs. Korea. But to be able to have a good slashing or driving game, Kai also has to develop a reliable medium range jump shot & a 3-pt shot so as to compel the defense to close out or challenge his shot which would make Kai's drives easier. What is good about Kai is that magaling din sya mag fake ng mga tira which would easly make his defender bite.
