Hassan Whiteside a former one-and-done star at mid-major Marshall University(former teammate of Chris Lutz), his journey to NBA stardom came the other way around: Second-round draft pick of the Sacramento Kings who eventually cut him followed by five stints in the D-League, two trips to China and two more to Lebanon, and eventually was signed by the Miami Heats. So Kai Sotto playing in China, Japan, Spain and a call-ups by Gilas for major tournaments for the next 2-4 years will make him ready for the NBA..

Kai is still young and has a lot of moves available to him still. Id argue though that Kai should try to fix whatever relationships he hurt with his past moves as well as get better advice, ideally from people who truly have his best long term interests at heart.

This makes me think, if its Ian Sangalang, Rayray Parks or Paul Lee, being in the same situation as Kai, malamang they wouldn't have made what is now being described as an ill-advised move...
...Simply becoz Sangalang, Parks & Lee would be too focus on their NBA dream that they would not even think about playing for the country at all.
Maybe that would be the advantage of being unpatriotic.
Too bad, Kai isn't unpatriotic.

Thai pro team interested in Kai
THAILAND CAN ALSO BE A LANDING SPOT?
Chris Daleo, the head coach of the Thai national team and the Hi Tech club, openly tweeted his interest. The money won't be $35,000 a month rich like Ignite but the mentorship will be five-star and the playing minutes is similar to the Sotto family phone plan - unlimited.
Oh what a side trip that would be and I can already see the billboards.
Muay Kai is in The House.

From Thai Coach Chris Daleo:
Over my years I coached great phenoms, Lenny Cooke and Ronnie Fields.Great players with unlimited potential but many“handlers”. Sadly, with so many voices trying to dictate the direction or the player, hyping the player, and always jumping spot to spot,The players never made it
