Which of the gilas pool players are more skilled, better conditioned and more adapted to skilled big players than kai sotto??
Kai must prioritize his pro career because that is his job. He has to pay a lot of bills, and deserves to want a lifestyle that is better than those of most pinoy ballers. He never needed to play for the national team.
Tab is a competent coach, but his 3-week minimum participation from kai is pure bs and oa.
Kai can play as classical center or power forward. That role takes only two days of team adjustment.

Adding even an unfamiliar kai to the lineup is still a net positive for gilas. I mean, this generational player will always make gilas stronger. I dont get how adding kai can be deteimental to the team. Is this gilas team that super cohesive that even the smallest of changes can throw it off course? Indonesia will like to take in kai as their naturalized player if he is not good enough for tab's team. Perhaps, even china. As a good person, kai deserves to be in a team that wants him.
Did i forget to say that tab's present gilas team has not beaten any noteworthy team?? Why, kai's american training teams, with players like jalen g and kuminga, look better even in just youtube practices.

The really funny thing is kai needs zero adjustments with other international nt players like chiu and tamayo as forwards or smallball centers -- both are his past teammates and physically can brutalize the paint. Other quality players like ramos, baltazar, heading and deliaño have legit skills and can play serious, very fluid no-rules streetball with kai. The four can go jalen g and kuminga streetball.
With kouame, one other reliable sniper and one lockdown big 2-3 defense specialist, i seriously believe that pinoy larong bukid will give the korean nt hissy fits all game.

The Senator has called the IATF to reduced the 14-day mandatory quarantine among persons coming from abroad that have already completed their vaccination. Parang yung panawagan yata ni Sen. Sotto is designed to shorten Kai's quarantine period.

Smart is running Kai's advertisement these days all over facebook. I don't think they would do that and sit Kai this window.
To beat korea, we should focus our defense on the perimeter and let Kai patrol the shaded lane. Kai defending Ratliffe would be best. He isn't known to shoot threes and I don't think Cardo can easily bully a stronger version of Kai.
On offense, let our bigs operate down low. I think they will have a hard time stopping Kai and even Kouame unless they put Ratliffe on him. Kai could do his thing as long as he is on his usual positions. He could also do the pick and roll with our guards.
Korea always succumbed to Iran's style of play. This Gilas version isn't the same than all the other Gilas. We were mainly perimeter oriented and Korea just focus their defense to our perimeter players. If Jong and Tab would design plays for Kai and let him operate, I believe he would be successful with it.
If kai would have success down low then it would somehow free our perimeter players. Korea tends to double Haddadi most of the time before.Comment
