too much drama and distraction for a young team/core would just disrupt team chemistry and morale, especially once media and social media starts blabbing about Kai's minutes (or the probable lack thereof ) so might as well just move on from all the drama and not include any player not committed.

-though im optimistic that Sotto will get enough practice time with Gilas for the OQT, but for the 3rd window, they should just not include him in the lineup to protect both parties

Yeah that agency cause him a spot in g-league spot and putting a red flag on kai's scouting report in what ewp did last february

Is it wise to include him in the OQT but not the AQT? I got the impression that it's going to be more physical and competitive. I mean from a handler's standpoint I would rather have him play against the lesser teams than teams that could make him look bad or injure him

              • We all thought Sotto was still in quarantine and never made it to Inspire the last time. That was until clips of him practicing with the team started popping out. Just saying.
Never look too far ahead. You might stumble on a block right in front of you.

In theory, if EWP's purpose is to showcase Kai to improve his draft stock, the Asian Qualifiers/AQT is the logical choice as he can pad his stats and would look strong against inferior competition, while the tendency to be humiliated or injured is high in the OQT as teams with legit chance, in this case Serbia, Italy, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico will go for the kill.

But given the circumstance, without team chemistry/proper preparation, despite his talent and potential, Kai's appearance in the AQT might not be fruitful

especially if the top teams shows up full force, especially Serbia. But if Kai will train for more than 3 weeks, he and Gilas has a fighting chance

PS: i still have ptsd from our 2019 World Cup humiliation from Serbia and Italy

fun fact, in the 2000 olympics, team USA had a $1 million bounty to the first player who would dunk on Yao, with the attention Kai is getting from social media, I hope this would not happen to him

                        • Games , after say 2.or 3 days practice , are not to be used to build chemistry and fit a new addition in, simply does not work that way. Doesn't even work for imports in the NBL.
Even if the games are no bearing ..
With Korea your not dealing with match ups but playing against a system. And if you've been preparing to play against the Korean system, then inserting a new player who hasn't been preparing with the team, not only does it impact our chances of winning, but it doesn't help us actually get better. You need decent practice for "tune up games to be beneficial. You don't just throw in a guy and expect him to learn in the fly. This isn't the PBA a throwing in a late import replacement. Doesn't work that way

                            • Having said that if we beat Korea without Kai in 1st game .
I think it's possible to risk a quarter and experiment with Kai.
