I just hope that Kai isn't that emotionally down after what happened. We all know its a loss for Kai not able to play for Ignite in the ongoing G-league. We all know the amount of negative effect it will impact on Kai's chances of being drafted in the NBA this year. But things happened and there's nothing anybody can do about it. Kai & his handlers must pick up the pieces & move on. It doesn't mean naman na nadapa ka eh di ka na pweding tumayo.

For us fans, let's mitigate the blaming game that we usually do everytime someone stumbled on a blunder like this one. Blaming won't help. Let's not make too much of a fuss regarding this matter. Its not the end of the road for Kai. Very very far from it. Natalisod lang si Kai & he will stand up & pick up the pieces. He needs our support so suporta nalang tayo, please.
Honestly I just want to watch him play in a competitive game. He's 18 and this is just a roadblock albeit a really big one. I still believe he can be an NBA player even if undrafted.

Also he is just 18 and still too "soft" for Philippine basketball standards (how pinoys prefer to play the game). It's not like Gilas will live and die with Kai.

It seems to be a completely EWP blunder. 2 poor performances in scrimmages and they're scared s**t that Kai won't get drafted. They should have been patient as Kai grows in the 15 games of Ignite. He will get his touches as he and his teammates get to know each other. But they choose Gilas to impress the scouts with three games against Korea and Indonesia.

Can't blame others for breaking down with how emotionally invested they are with Kai's NBA journey.

PeeZones will be Anonymous 123 version 2 with the way things are going.
      Add wnox and astigram. Hehe

Kidding aside, Kai's camp should really study their move. Most pro leagues run from October-April. May-September is a big vacuum for them. Only few leagues are running in that months and that INCLUDES the PBA.

I mean look for other options first.

August is a very long time. And it may even coincide with Combine.

I don't know if 3rd window will be even played. If it is scheduled around April May. Then ok.

Just not now, with no sched.

Anyway, Kai already go back to US, it is impractical to go back Philippines again to quarantine again, then after, go back to quarantine again.

I am pretty sure EWP and Kai have plans why they went back to america even no g league bubble

In the NCAA at any given time,he would have faced, other NBA ready talent game in,game out and the most important thing is for just a brief moment he would experience some semblance of a normal life.
the saddest part of all of this:
in the pursuit of the NBA dream, Kai is slowly being deprived of a normal teenage life.

          • Can i ask.

Kai's remaining contract should be paid by any team in Europe(or any other int leagues) right? If Kai wants to go there?

Because right now, Kai still belongs to Ignite. And his rights

That is almost true to all nba players.

You need time, and opportunity cost to sacrifice in order to make the Nba

                • I read on social media that the supposed Smart advertisrment was to coincide with the launch of Dito Telecoms. If this was true, indeed this was planned and calendared long ago by dad Ervin and EWP.

they could have just shot the ad at the Sotto's US resident, smh, they're overstretching the kid's popularity, he is not yet that of a household name as he is only known to filipino basketball fans, i doubt the kpop baby bra warriors, the nanays, jejes etc knew or follow Kai or aware of Kai Sotto,

                    • We always know where this is heading. Kai will play for Ateneo in the UAAP and then play for the PBA.

This is the one truth we are afraid of. Let us face it, no natural born FILIPINO will be drafted in the NBA at least the near future. Our nation is not capable of producing a bball player who has the collective skills, height, IQ and maturity required to play in the NBA. Don't worry Kai will give Ateneo another 2 to 3 championships and will make San Miguel a champion for years.

                      • Kai's new monicker will be 'Bongga ka Kai' replacing the outdated Jai Reyes' Bongga ka Jai monicker among Ateneo fans and alumni

I doubt it, he is a pro. No way the UAAP board allows it.

                            Ooops.

Wag naman. That is a Disaster.

And in all teams, San Miguel pa talaga which do not lend players.

Anyway, Kai have other OPTIONS RATHER THAN ANY LEAGUE IN PHILIPPINES.

kaya nga sya bumalik US, and did not stay in Philippines.

If Kai really wanted to play for Ateneo, he will not leave to go back to US immediately.

Pretty sure, they know the situation already aboit gleague bubble.

As for No filipino will be drafted in Nba, I beg to disagree. They will be in the near future

                            • Don't take selfishness and self interest for granted. These two are the most powerful motivating factors behind any planned change in league rules.

                                Kai is a pro already.

He is Two leagues ahead of Uaap Players
