Still hasn’t improved his defensive court awareness, Quiambao. Wouldn’t say he’s a poor defender but he’s got a lot to improve on. Right now he’s a tweener on that end—too stiff to guard the perimeter yet too small to man the post.Never look too far ahead. You might stumble on a block right in front of you.

Javi GDL shooting 47% from 3s for the season is impressive. I'd include him as a gilas prospect.
Anyone have data on 3pt % leaders in the pba?
Edit: wow didn't realize Oftana shoots 46% on 7.8 attempts and Heading 39% on 6.5 attempts per game.
For analytical context, 40% from 3 is like shooting 60% from 2 (Shaq territory) = 10 attempts for both gets you 12 points.

Like I said, 40% from 3 is the same as 60% from 2. It is harder to develop a 60% 2-pt shooter (Shaq territory efficiency) than it is to develop a 40% 3-pt shooter (even guys like Bruce Bowen, PJ Tucker make the grade). Especially since we do not have a steady supply of bigs or world-sized wings/forwards.
Perimeter defense sucks currently because there's not a lot of shooters (or shooting teams) to get defensive experience from.

According to a recent confirmation with the JKJ club, Javi Gomez's contract is one year. The JKJ club will have to think about renewing its contract with Gomez or re-recruiting Abando in May. Many fans of the JKJ club think that Gomez is the best option in terms of stability.Philippine Malditas to FIFA Womens World Cup 2023
