Didn't expect him to play heavy minutes but he did 29, had the ball in his hands often, still throws those no-look-lobs to nobody, and I guess most of his teammates are gun-shy when someone needs to create with the shotclock running down. His team is also really bad defensively.

          • KQ I guess was decent. But he does look a bit undersized as PF even in KBL. I think his team will probably try to develop him as SF.

              • Finally, someone mentioned KQs wingspan. According to Baek 6'10".

                That plus big hands.

That crazy wingspan is more useful than an extra 1-2 inches of head height.

Wow that’s a pretty high wingspan to height ratio. KQ has the potential. I like though that it seems his team plans to work on the holes of his game. It’s a bit funny though that even if both KQ and Dave Ildefonso seem to be targeted for a smaller position than they came in, the team doesnt seem disappointed with KQ and instead are hopeful. Not to take away anything from Dave but looking at his game he still has the same weaknesses as before. For some reason I dont think that will happen with KQ.

"KQ is slow for SF and short for PF," said the performance analyst at the "S" club, who watched Kevin Quiambao at Sono Arena yesterday.

He also said, "KQ has a habit of missing opposing team players and producing a lot of turnovers in offensive as it goes into the second half."

Basketball fans who have seen KBL for more than 25 years argue that Sono club should use Kevin Quiambao like Rhenz Abando when he was a JKJ club.

Their argument = 'Using KQ as 3&D'

Let's see how that goes for Quiambao in the KBL.

Yeah, I can't believe no one else was curious about his wingspan which is so obviously freaking long just by looking at it.

Everyone was fixated on his 6'3.75" head height.

3&D is kind questionable considering the athleticism part, wingspan and strength could make up for it, but he’s limited in positions he could realistically play, though with a 6’10 wingspan I don’t think it’s impossible for him as a pf

                            • KQ's body structure is closer to Draymond Green - short in height but has an elongated arms.

Obviously he’s not a 3D. He is too stocky compared to Abando. I guess they see his lack of handles and think aha like Abando. His lack of handles now is a problem. He is limited to playing as PF. But KBL PFs are taller and stronger than him. He will always be posted up. He can go two ways. Strength/bulk up to defend the post better. But that will limit his passing. Without handles, defenses will pick on his passes as evidenced by his 4/5 TOs.

I think the best way is for him to improve his handles. Good enough to give passes off the dribble and to drive on PFs. He won’t be able to do that if he is bulked up. The first step would be for him to be a driving PF. With this his scoring and passing should offset his disadvantage at the post. He is deadly from 3 as is, developing a 2 dribble move to the paint would be the next step.
