I know it's very longshot, but wouldn't it be amusing if the ones who make it to the NBA were our guards?

So, statistically speaking, guard and wing players should be where we have the best prospects.
Bulok lang talaga ang sistema dito.

Like in football, we have the size for it, but so does the rest of the whole world so the competition population suddenly just rose exponentially.
The taller the player, the lesser the competition, just like in Kai's case (roughly speaking, he has to outplay maybe 1,000 7-footers, while a 6-foot guard has to outplay maybe a million).
What we need to do is develop our few extremely tall players the correct way. They already won the genetic lottery and narrowed down their competition, it's just a matter of following through with correct development.

Now we gotta unfortunately thank Chot freaking Reyes for taking KQ out of the post and on to the wing. Seeing those UAAP juniors clips of Kai's AHS years vs a stacked NUNS team with Tamayo, Quiambao, and Abadiano... they were really hell-bent or tiring Sotto even if it meant attacking the basket and getting stuffed. I'm convinced if nobody saw how versatile KQ was for those makeshift Gilas teams under Chot, KQ would have been another Prince Rivero.

"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

There's no way that KQ is 6'6 when I can clearly see that Phillips is taller than him on TV... and I've had 6'4 and 6'3 classmates in school decades ago. Those who insist KQ was taller than 6'4 definitely don't know anyone taller than 6'2... and I don't have to mention what I think about the Philippine Star and its perennial bullshitter.

Most level-headed people had him at 6'5" (which turns out to be pretty close and is probably the case after a stretching session). Meanwhile, no one's bothering to measure/mention his wingspan and hand size.

Carl’s height makes sense I think given Balti’s PBA measurement is 6’6.75. Balti looks shorter than Carl when they are side by side. I think Balti when measured standing up willl be shorter than 6’6.5.

For me though, hopefully someone measures his wingspan and hand size. Those are more impactful.
