Just the highlights, haven’t seen actual games but I think people shouldn’t expect this kind of scoring from him internationally, he’s a very strong physical player but most of his defenders in the clip are around his size, he’s also relying on his physicality to create space and get his shot off. In FIBA his defenders are going to be taller and more athletic which would give him a harder time. His shooting though In this game looks good though but his season average is 25% on 3 attempts per game. I know people are expecting him to replace Kai Sotto for some reason but they provide completely different skill sets.

For FIBA, I think we should also focus on his shooting and defense. If he can be at least a good shooter and a decent defender, he'll increase his usefulness for Gilas.

CTC seems pretty hell bent on making games ugly by playing slow and winning via offensive rebounds and paint points. Im not sure if thats a function of Kai and Junemar or just how he wants to play. They turn games into a slow grind it out rock fight.

Hes gonna have to adjust without kai and id like to see if that means more minutes for Tamayo ( who couldnt defend without fouling against good competetion ) and KQ at forwards. Which due to their play style isnt like the usual way Gilas played.

Carl is like JF on defense in the PF slot, it is not his strong suite. KQ is short. Japeth will be his sole rim protector. Maybe Jamie will help. It is obvious barring a miraculous Edu appearance that Balti is the next best eligible defensive big. It is also obvious that SMC doesnt want him or Delta. Therefore Balti will either have to improve more on his PBA performance or Gilas will really suck defensively for TC to pick him.

Is Tamayo's current coach the same coach of Abarrientos - where he won the KBL Rookie award? (Coach seems to have that good mantra with PH players...)

Those are twin brothers. Gutang/Tamayo's coach is the one nicer though while Oczon/Abarrientos' coach is scarier because of frequent temper tantrums and long silent mad look at you when you make a mistake shown on TV camera.
