Just wanted to add, nba teams have gone away a bit from wingspans to more just arm length in general because of what ccharmed has said. Also teams usually have their own advanced statistics to measure to defense that isn’t public but scouts use blocks and steals as a way to identify length and athleticism. Players with plus length and athletic ability usually have a higher block and steal numbers than average

Hard to believe Luis Scola was not their best bigman but Fabricio Oberto, and Prigioni only backed up Pepe Sanchez as the team's point guard. Walter Hermann backstopped Nocioni and Carlos Delfino subbed out Manu. That team was deep, and is one of the GOATs of International basketball.
