I'm one of those who thinks Kai isn't NBA-level... yet. It will be difficult but never say die.

Personally, I'm happy he's playing overseas and not rotting in the PBA. I'd rather see him retire as an NBL player than PBA player.
Honestly, for our best prospects, overseas (Aussie, Europe, Japan, SoKor) should be the first choice for perks and Gilas availability (especially during offseason), and the PBA should be a retirement league for them. Better competition abroad year-round (mainly due to imports) for their prime years, and coming back, they'll bring in their overseas experience and bring in some plays, and also maybe playing in their home country in their last playing years.

Chot will choose Pogoy and Erram instead of Heading and Edu, for a reason that they are already familiar with DDO. What a letdown that will be if it happens.

Edu already expressed his intention to play in World Cup, but I highly doubt that Chot will choose him over Erram.

A 4 big man roster of Kai, JMF, JA, and EJ will be formidabble only if Chot will just let go of padrino system.

Heading or Abando will do. Those 2 are our best local shooters.

I can shrug off Heading’s non-inclusion but Edu is too valuable to be left out. I understand the health concerns but he’s been playing for a few months now and should be more than fine come August, which is about 7 months from now. If this happens, that is seeing Erram in lieu of AJ for familiarity’s sake, I’d personally hammer the nails to crucify Coach Chot.
Never look too far ahead. You might stumble on a block right in front of you.

China doesn't need Filipino market since more than 700 million basketball fanatics in China (Nielsen data says 54% Of Chinese fans are basketball fans).... That's why FIBA and NBA has to thank Chinese market why basketball is considered 2nd most popular sport because almost half of basketball aficionados all over the world are Chinese...

Or Chot will likely not include Baltazar and Tamayo since Philippines' roster will likely PBA led roster... How about Japeth, AJ, Junmar, Erram and Kai frontline?

Edu will be in... But in exchange, No Tamayo and Baltazar in 2023 roster....

It's already obvious... w/ Kai, even Chot coached team Philippines beat Tucker led Jordan team, while Tab coached 2021 roster w/o Kai didn't win against Tucker less Jordan team twice... That's testament that Philippines already entered Kai Sotto era that it will take until middle to late of 2030's... You guys are lucky that your team will have a legit big man that makes Philippines a top 5 Asian team in 2 decades.... Japan and Korea are still dreaming of having legit big man (local player), even thou they have tons of guards and wings... In Asia, big man is necessity...

Why CBA don?t get any pinoy ballers given how japan and korea gets ours left and right?
China has huge Chinese basketball followers... In China, basketball is their no.1 sport (you can research)...They don't need any foreign markets since their market is the biggest in basketball world... Even NBA and FIBA take credit to Chinese basketball fans why the sport now is already 2nd most popular sport... If ICC/Cricket world has Indian market, NBA/FIBA basketball has Chinese market to cash on.... If you take out FIBA/NBA Chinese market and ICC/IPL/T20 Indian market, FIBA/NBA has more followers than ICC since basketball has more bigger followers worldwide than Cricket that their next cash cow markets are Pakistan and Bangladesh... That's why you know the answer why CBA didn't pick any Filipino players, unless if the player is deserving to be hired (I see Kai Sotto might make it to the CBA easily, his playstyle suits CBA)....

Far fetched. Tamayo and/or Baltazar will always have a slot or two as they fill a position we?re weak at?the sf/pf. PBA led shouldn?t be construed as an all PBA lineup. If this is what?s they are keen on doing, the likes of Winston and Lastimosa won?t even be given a look given this is the last FIBA window.

The final lineup might be PBA led but for sure there?d be non-PBA players other than Kai and Dwight. Edu, Tamayo, Parks are most likely additions but I personally want Baltazar and Heading to be on the same boat. Sadly, there are a lot of variables to be considered.

But your team will lose to Jordan if Kai is not there... take a case when NZL face Jordan also in the same window? They didn't have legit bigs in that window to limit Al Dwairi, And then the latter dominated the game, When Jordan faced Philippines, Al Dwairi was limited because Kai's presence is there... He has to bleed his points because Kai and Kouame battling Al Dwairi anytime...

In the end, the 11th and 12th spots are basically bench warmers... If Chot is the coach, he will tap his known players than the others... And last window proved that your players that hated the most can contribute even limited playing time... Pogoy and Erram are least favorites for Filipinos but Chot knows both, since these are his players, They will agree what Chot wants to do for them, unlike the players you wish to be there... As coach Aleksandar Đorđević of China tells to the Chinese media says that he wants 12 best fit to his system to be a better team... He doesn't need 12 best players in his team... For sure Kai, Ramos, JC, Scottie and Japeth will get big minutes there, and some will get lesser minutes then the 11th and 12th players will be considered as always DNP or luckily having 2 minutes of playing time... Who do you want to be there in that position? I know Filipino fans, If their favorite players will be benched, the coaching staff will be crucified because they were benched... But no one bats an eye if Pogoy and Erram will be benched, since they were least favorite among Filipinos.... But those two will have a bigger role off the court since they are familiar with Chot system unlike others....

You are being presumptuous and pessimistic. At the end of the day coach Chot, Cone and the SBP will get the best available players for the World Cup.
