A Filipino playing in the NBL is something folks back home can't seem to comprehend that's already a big achievement for a basketball country like ours.

I think some people are just glued at the dream of seeing Kai play in the NBA that if for instance Kai fails to make it to that ultimate league, they will strongly hold it against Kai & would consider the kid as a disappointment.

Except folks back home know that the NBL is the highest level of basketball Filipinos have reached so far. I wonder what your description of bashing is, because us Kai fans who want to see him get to the NBA aren't the ones nitpicking his every game. If Kai fails to reach the NBA, nobody from our side will be mad at him. You know who will be happy though? The people who spent years here saying "Kai isn't NBA level".

The mental gymnastics coming from you two are amazing, no offense. You'd do well to separate us from the casual fans who think that not reaching the apex is an automatic failure. We are not those people.

Was just thinking one of the reasons that there are no Pinoys in the CBA is unlike Japan, is there is no such thing as a Filipino fan community in Communist China ? There is no local Filipino market

The value Thirdy and crew brought isnt really from the local market but more modern things like facebook likes. Obviously since pinoys are basically non existent in Weibo, we cant help there.

A quick glimpse at FB and YT comments is enough to show that the average Filipino isn't aware how high level is the NBL.

Kadalasan sa mga pinoy, they only think of the NBA outside of Filipino basketball. This is why andameng unrealistic expectations sa mga young players natin. They don't know just how competitive it is to make the NBA draft.

I'm one of those who thinks Kai isn't NBA-level... yet. It will be difficult but never say die.

Personally, I'm happy he's playing overseas and not rotting in the PBA. I'd rather see him retire as an NBL player than PBA player.

From what I perceive of Chot, he's not going to reach out to Heading first. I guess we might see Pogoy again in lieu of Heading

Lastimosa making the team depends on things like is Bolick in the doghouse? Is Keifer flying in? I think Shiga is in relegation trouble so wont surprise me if he doesn't. For 2023, I don't think Jerom makes it if Iskati, RJ, Kiefer and Bolick are all healthy and available.

Winston has a shot since he is a good one on one defender and a decent shooter. Haven't seen him in a complimentary role yet though.

Does the B.League have relegation this season? Because, they didn't have relegation the past two seasons.
