That's kind of the problem with 6'4" players back then, even if they were mobile and athletic. That was seen as big, so big man ang dinevelop. Hence, Arwind-style 6'4" players instead of being developed as wings ala Oftana.

Thankfully, that has been changing as of late. Oftana, Navarro, Arvin, players like that, that can play as wings rather than natural fours.

      • Sources of Tiebreaker Times say that Carl is close to signing a two-year contract in the B.League: https://tbti.me/s22iez

If he does, I hope he gets playing time. Because, that's where Balti struggled.

At least it's a two-year deal, so team would wanna invest in him.

Its up to UP bigwigs if they want to pay Carl to stay. Ideally they shouldve allowed him to leave already. They lost this season anyway.

I think the advantage he has over Balti is he’s more versatile offensively and better suited as an import.

              • His conditioning is still unsatisfactory. An outstanding 30 minutes is still impossible for him. He already starts fading after 15 minutes. He still needs a lot of gym work.

But the above-average skills and quick reflexes are clearly there. Combined with raw, physical power, few nba centers can overmatch him.

Based on how his skills and conditioning has been improving, he will be a good investment as a legit nba 15-20 minute center in two years. This is actually good progress. He will be a brute in five years, when he will be a 30-minute force in the paint, against whom smallball styles wont work well.

For the nt in fiba 2023, he will be more than good enough. Our home-grown 6'7-6'8 power forwards are quite good. An extra 6'9-6'10 sf -- maybe that filgerm pfeiffer? -- though is needed as there are too many good tall and fast perimeter rats in enemy fiba nts.

More so with big and talented eastern slav teams like the russians, belarusians, and future ex-ukrainians (novorossiyans and/or malorossiyans) entering and upgrading the competitiveness in the asian circuit. Then there is tough turkey, which like russia has a bigger asian geographic chunk, which can belong to the fiba-asia group. You can expect asian nts to be at least good as olympic gold candidates as the top euro ones in less than ten years. This matches the world-power reality that asia will be the most dynamic and influential social and economic bloc and growth engine this century, as western europe and north america begin their fading poverty-end stages.

"Siguro in a few days I?ll announce. I can?t say anything about it,? said Ildefonso.

Sources though said that Ildefonso will be signing a two-year deal with the Sonicboom, making his commitment to join the team during the UAAP?s international break.

The 6-foot-3 winger played his first two years at National University, averaging 16.18 points, 5.25 rebounds, and 2.46 assists per game.

He then transferred to Ateneo, playing two seasons there.

In his senior year, he put up numbers of 12.97 points and 8.29 rebounds. He made it to the Mythical Team.

In the finals, however, his numbers dipped to 5.0 points and 6.67 rebounds. What?s important though is he finally got the gold medal he has long sought for.

He joins a Sonicboom team that has Lester Prosper as their import.

Suwon KT is currently last in the league with a 7-14 record.

                  • Kai is slowly peaking at the right time, almost in time for the NBL playoffs. That long layoff after the draft sure affected his development and conditioning.

                    • Based on recent games:

Kai Sotto > Kaloka este Koloko(rookie center of Toronto Raptors) lol

Obviously, scouts and GM are not all mighty as some forumers in this thread suggests over and over again in the past even to the point calling some supporters of Kai

                      as crazy/insane and delusional haha

I think BLeague pays more but if he wants to play in the SEA Games for an inside track for 2023 then go KBL.

Hope Carl chooses this one over a B-league team.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV
