True, there were 2 wide open 3s Kai gave Baynes on the first half (Still having trouble with pick and roll defense and mobility), positive side is he is playing good as a traditional center vs traditional bigs

There are some similarities in terms of playing style but I rather compare him to Zhou Qi.

              Yes.

But Kai also played good defense on Banes inside and in the post.

Overally, Kai has a solid game I agree.

13 pts and 8 Rebs in 21 mins. For the absence of DJ

Do u think Kai can replace DJ as Starter next season SK?

(Assuming Kai stays ofc, There is a chance Kai can be offered and transferred to another team. )

I think he is top 3 PG in the kbl. That says a lot, korea is the same as pinas, lack of a pass first PG. Making a combo guard like RJ look like jason kidd.

In the philippines, probably the best 3pt shooting PG. He is already better than SJ and perhaps kiefer. Weakness is still defense but leads the team in steals.

to be fair to kai i think he's a better post player & passer, zhou is better at everything else

i think his game resembles steve nash/dame lillard/steph curry more than jason kidd's. kidd was probably the nba's best defensive point guard in the past 20 years.

credit to his coach as well giving him the keys to the offense. that's a lot of trust letting a foreign rookie run your team's offense from day 1, playing heavy minutes and not benching every time he commits mistakes. he also has great chemistry with his teammates. i noticed lee woo seok (6'5" sg who was last year's rookie of the year) wasn't comfortable deferring to rj in the pre-season/early season but these days they compliment each other really well.

                      • Unpopular opinion, but I think the 36ers next year is best for Kai's development, and yes I think it's reasonable for him to start and play like 21 mins like last night ..

If Zhou's draft year was 2022, , I don't think he would be drafted and don't think he would make a full year NBA regular roster .

Kai As Starter for ADL Next year playing 21 mins per game?

If that happen, I think we can say Kai is the best current homegrown Filipino Player.

A Starter for one of "arguably" top 5 basketball leagues in the world.

Do you think Kai Will eventually have a chance to make the NBA analyzed in 2024 or 2025-2026?

                          • 10 day unguaranteed contract yes , possible

A guaranteed contract for a season, NO, very unlikely

Note neither will Zhou or Baynes will ever get back to a full year contract in the NBA, and note for all intents and purposes regardless of age difference they're all in the same boat.
There is no advantage in being younger once you go undrafted..
Cause teams no longer sign a free agent for upside., but you have to be a finished product ( so even if Kai improves to appeoximate Zhou level he still won't be signed for a guaranteed contract like Zhou has no longer interest from NBA teams

                            • Understand that a 22 year old Kai , entering the draft in 2024 is very plausible to be either drafted or offered a 2 way contract.

But a 22 to 25 year old undrafted Kai in 2024 onwards being offered a guaranteed contract is NOT plausible.

                              Totally different scenarios

                              • I believe the difference between KBL and B.League in terms of scouting is that the Koreans know who they are getting. They may not produce in the initial stages (Gutang, Abando) but they may produce eventually while some may recruit players that will compliment their system more (RJ, SJ).
