Name Image and Likeness. Basically how college athletes get paid nowadays. Allows players to be sponsored by companies.

i don't consider rj a good defender despite his steals numbers. they are both undersized at their positions, the only reason they are not overmatched when defending is because korean guards do not post up. also abando compensates with his athleticism

got it. unfortunately NIL provisions for Div 1 were not in effect when Kai was considering NCAA. In essence Kai is cashing in NIL while playing in the NBL and as such can afford to get a lower paid team contract . He earns mostly from NIL or endorsements , and short term Gilas stints

If all our local players playing abroad go home, and PBA allows 2 NBA-caliber imports, 1 asian import, 1 former foreign student-athlete (e.g. Bright, Mbala) per team.... then PBA automatically becomes the best league in Asia right? What's barring the PBA to evolve is their stup*d rules and lack of budget obviously. Ignore the marketing, business model, and no home-and-away format, if PBA somehow finds a way to raise the level of competition and maintain league parity people will tune in. Homegrown Filipino players will be forced to work harder just to get into the league.

RJ will get benched in the PBA with his style of play. It takes years for players in the PBA to have that much green light. He made the right decision to play in the KBL instead.

              • Just looking at the profile of the 5 bigs below drafted in the 2nd round 2022, ( ages of 21 to 23 yrs old) , just makes me think if Kai entered draft next year 21 or in 2024 as a 22 year old , his chances would be better, ( unfortunately wasn't meant to be) . I think Kai can reasonably project to be at the players level below in 1 or 2 years from .
now ( this would have been a more plausible) , than to get a guaranteed offer in the future as an Undrafted/ uninvited draft prospect)

                33 Koloko 22 yr
                41 Liddele 21
                48 Kumagate, 21
                49 Mobley 23 yr
                53 Malkovic 21

Note the 12 players in a roster aren't necessary the 12 best players a team can get , but rather the one's who are drafted are essentially investements for the future ( so their level isn't necessary high) .
the difficulty of securing a guaranteed contract as a fee agent on the other hand requires a different lense ( there is no patience for development or upside ) but litterally you will be competing with all the top player veterans in the world for spots . (these are mostly the imports in foreign leagues and ex NBA players who have finished their contract term)

I agree with this. Scrap the AFC. Mine would be, hire 1 height unlimited import and 1 Asian/Naturalized/FSA import. Let the combination of the import's heights be a max of 6'10 plus 6'5. Team's who don't have the budget to hire good big imports can get big FSAs and spend less on the smaller imports. Increase the number of games and increase the number of games per week. Coaches shouldn't be able to play one player 40 minutes. Where's the team ball there. Where's the coaching? I rather like how the UAAP uses FSAs. Yes they are usually the most important player in the team. But not all plays are centered on them.

                    • This video really confirms that Kai at 20yrs old had a lot of interested teams in europe. It was Tadas who confirms that they receive calls regarding Kai. If Kai and Wass will stick with ADL, then it is not that Kai wasnt offered bigger. Wass has bigger plans for Kai and they were clear about it. It is better to just wait for Wass next move and be optimistic. Kai has all the tools for the big league he only needs more seasoning as he aged. I always believe that he will get there eventually. I dont overly bank on Wass but I believe on the upside and capabilities of Kai. He only needs time and opportunities to really blossom.

FSAs can also give teams at least one proper sized center in the UAAP. Without them, only UP and La Salle will have the closest thing to a center by next season

                          • There actually is no question because of NIL that Kai is very valuable client , for any agency to get.. an agency who has Kai as client can earn much more through NIL and Gilas stints than any normal player that makes the NBA on a short term contract

Was it DAvid Robinson who said before that according to his expert resource person and himself no one is interested on Kai Sotto lol

Hmmm seems to me that Wass beg to disagree haha

                              • Isn't that a good thing, that Kai is well sought and valued for NIL (not necessarily playing rating level of interest) , just keeping things accurate and not making more out of things (signed by big agent) by putting more meaning than it really is , which would be over hyping and exaggeration ( which isn't a good behaviour)
