I don't like misinformation either, and the reason I posted those statistics was not to discredit any 36er player. Stats need context (I never said that Kai is a better defender than Cleveland or Dech), and the reason I posted those was to dispel the notion that somehow Kai is the worst defender in the 36ers, as you and many others implied.

Even ADL supporters in hoops Au have stated that Kai is required for defense, with some even suggesting that Kai should start over as DJ. Kai has just been averaging 10 minutes in 8 games, so I don't get why he gets the most blame in defense in the games ADL played.

Instead of blaming Kai for the 36ers' defensive woes, it's better to be accurate and blame the combinations CJ uses or the lack of effort from DJ and co. Even good defenders like Cleveland and Dech are seeing their DEF numbers drop. My point is that it is more about the combinations and schemes used than it is about the players.

If anyone took note the 36ers biggest weakness was when they put Randell and either DJ or Kai in PNR ,
FIbA (NBL uses FIBA rules ) is all PNR. That is why 36ers defense was bad...PNR defense when they hunt DJ or Kai ..worst if guard defender is Randell.
With Franks/Harris as bigs and Mirch or Dech as guards this PNR defense was so so much better

Hachimura and Watanabe also got through the NBA route in college. Joel Bell tried to bake his cake and eat it too. If Kai isn't good enough then why did Wasserman sign him, to profit off of the millions of Filipinos who can't afford his jerseys? Lmao.

Kai is not in the NBA right now because the Philippines don't have a track record of "winning" in the international stage outside of the Asian region, the weakest region in basketball.

What I said was not an excuse...Bateer paved the way for Chinese players in the NBA, not Mongolian players. As far as I know China excelled in the Asian region, at least before Iran and Oceania joined. And it's not like Bateer was drafted iirc. Kai could always come up to the NBA in a similar way. If Mongolia somehow makes it outside of the Asian region into the FIBA WC, they might get a second look. Ricky Rubio was noticed by the NBA because of his superb performance against Team USA, which wouldn't have happened if Spain was a minnow in world ball. Is there any excuse here or are people just trying to discredit my argument?

Stevy has the same point as I do LOL, as we do. We've blamed the scheme again and again, did any of you listen? No, none of you did, you just all migrated to another thread at nagpasimple ng patama because the commentators said something you all agreed with. Then Adelaide LOST the game, then Stevy posted the numbers. All factual by the way so TBC can't demand for any links and you can't complain about misinformation.

The numbers don't automatically mean you're wrong, but in this case you, the commentators, and everyone else who agreed were wrong. The defense didn't win ADL the game, and the numbers were in favor of OUR argument. That's why I kept talking about reactions and egos, because it seems like while we Kai supporters can accept being wrong, a lot of you cannot. Please don't expect courtesy if you're going to sneak diss us just because we think differently from you and can argue against you equally.

As for your sidekick, I can't take someone's mockery of Kai's skyhooks seriously when he didn't post right after the game where Kai did them.

i read through all your post.. even we string some losses and if we have a prospect who produce well and did well on defensive end in the eyes of the scout, he will sign you..

So many excuses. From the start of the GLeague stint they blamed coach Brian Shaw for the low playing time in the scrimmages. Then it was CJ Brutton in Adelaide. At one point blamed asian discrimination in Sottos absence in the mock drafts. The finger pointed to Joe Bell for the missed Summer League invite.

Now its Gilas Pilipinas turn for Sotto not making it to the NBA for the lack of winning tradition.

Bottom line is that 30 NBA GMs and coaches passed up on Sotto two times in the NBA Draft. This despite having individual workout with around 8 NBA teams.

The 30 NBA teams passed up on Sotto for many reasons. One is that he is not NBA material and NBA level.

to those saying that Kai was one of the worst PNR defender, I dare you to produce verified numbers or videos of it. The video should be several instances in a game and not just one instance.haha It should also be at least 3 games unless you will stupidly conclude one instance just because Kai didn't play a PERFECT GAME.haha

Kai being the worst rebounding big ends up as the highest rebounder per 40min.lol Kai also has the highest blocks per 40min.haha the other side has been consistently wrong with their takes.haha

The NBA is already getting bigger and playing tall ball. those who play small ball had been struggling these days. GSW was just lucky last year because big teams were incomplete/injured players and they really didn't face strong teams along the way. Curry and Klay are rare players and game changers but they don't come often within 15-20yrs. NBA teams also these days realize that good tall ball will most likely dominate the good small ball. Small ball will eventually be obsolete and useless in the long run.

To be fair, while mistakes were made, at least he didnt listen to Tab and stay with Ateneo. Part of the reason why I still think Kai has a shot is that his youth development was less then desirable.
