Isn't the requirement that both parents need to be of Asian ethnicity?

      • Anyone with decent bball knowledge would laud Kai's 5th window performance. The very thing I admire was that Kai is playing more composed and less erratic this time.

        • One thing is for sure Kai Sotto was better than Japeth, Kobe Paras and BPR at the same age.

          • James Wiseman, the Golden State Warriors second overall pick in 2020 will play in the GLeague haha

That's a sophomore player and a lottery pick back and forth to GLeague

Talk about development and playing time in a "SMALL BALL TEAM" when you're a big or a center/PF lol

Definitely, you need a career break and alignment of the stars to get going however you started your basketball career.

Because what matters really is how the journey was and how it ended haha

Good luck to Kai later..hope he be given significant playing time and major role by CJ haha

Athleticism isn’t just jumping, but in regards to jumping, Kai can jump high but his loading time is slow off 2 feet, Yekshel kind of pointed it out in a video. I think he’s a better 1 foot jumper than 2 feet but he’s not explosive.

              • Liam Santamaria interviews Coach Brian Gorjian of Australia Boomers and Bay Area(PBA) talks about

NBL expansion and their vision of having a Asia/Oceana version of the Euroleague

which includes Australia, New Zealand, China and the Philippines having a strong potential and interest.

Sounds like good place for development for Asian bball players. I support this plan haha.

                • Heoball says that KT is closest to signing a Filipino player among the teams without an Asian import: https://twitter.com/heoball/status/1...3_idSaCng&s=19

He also said that KCC and SK are in a wait-and-see approach.

KT and KCC both need an SG/SF, while SK need a PG.

                  • I'm not able to watch the game today but watched the highlights (vloggers are fast at thsi stuff). Kai being able to do the sweeping hook in the NBL is amazing because he was never able to do that stuff before. Ever. If he can do this conssistently then he can expand his repertroire to the TSF days and we can finally see the footwork and the post moves he was never able to display due to young age.

Kai's skills was always been good.

It is his physical strength and motor that needs improvement.

Especially physical strength. Once he develop that, he will be a better player.

                      Go Kai!!!

                        Of Course.

Kai is playing in a league which is arguably top 5 (?) In the world.

And he is capable of having double digit scoring in some games.

I can't say that to any homegrown Filipino player yet in modern times.

Do you think Kai Will be a Starting Center for Adl Next Season or in the near future?

If not, Maybe Kai can play for other NBL team that he is more needed.

Anyway, I am glad Kai got 17 mins tonight. Though, I would have hoped he is given a chance in the 4th

Did CJ revert to his small ball again? Let me guess, Melbourne chased the lead. Hayup din ah. But whatever, it's baby steps.

aside from being better in terms of skill, Kai's mental health is miles ahead of the three, two of the three mentioned names ( Japeth and Kobe) have questionable bball IQ, relied too much on athleticism, folds easily under pressure, and seem to have lost interest in improving their overall game. While Parks has been on cruise control/is just phoning it in, seems like basketball is just a 8 to 5 work to him

i can agree with this, kai is easily the best 20 yr-old homegrown pinoy player of all time.

we can be happy with that fact for now, perhaps it may be good to stop comparing him to legit nba players
