  • Fools against fools in debating whether kai belongs in the nba or not. It is enough that he gets at least fajardo-class compensation and benefits. The kid works hard for the money and nt pride. That is the only thing that matters.

Aah, which 20 year old center in the 2022 fiba elimination games were better than kaiju?

Well, let us hope the posts are better during the fifth, feb 2023 window....

Well it just goes to show how many were so way way of the true situation . with predictions such as being a lottery pick , when as much as people do not accept it , understand what not being invited in either the combine ( 70 players) and G- league camp (30 ) means in terms of how long a shot he is of making the NBA. Literally no one who hasn't been invited to both has ever secured a multi year ( at least 2 years) full time NBA contract .
It's fine to hope and wish the best for our countryman , but it's another thing when we don't accept what the historical precedence is in terms of chances. Separate the heart (emotions) from the head ( realism) . It's prudent to know "probability". People essentially are arguing that blind patriotism is better than knowing the true situation. A senseless debate (really)

      • If: Jordan > New Zealand
        Saudi Arabia > Jordan
        Philippines > Jordan/Saudi Arabia

Then: Philippines > New Zealand(majority NBL bench players in their roster) haha

Actually with regards to Wemby and Kai comparison scouts/GMs does not solely look on stats sheet for upside and ceiling.

BAsed on my observation scouts/GMs put more weight on fluidity, mobility, comfortable, bball iq, body measurement(standing, reach etc), athleticism and whatnot.

That is the main reason why in bball history have proven many times that these measurement are not absolute and have produced so many lottery picks bust bball players haha.

Ako kasi, I put more weight on player's mental fortitude and persistency aside from those above mentioned which are secondary things for me.

Heck Jimmy Butler has t-rex arms, not that athletic and whatnot but he's very effective still in his own game because of his mental fortitude, persistency, tenacity etc lol

I look at Kai and I see it in him. But I also would like to believe that Wemby, Chet and Bolbol also has that haha.

We can't really say who's better among these players. Only way to find out is when they have the opportunity to play against each other just like Shaq versus Yao Ming

back in the old days haha.

Well you can also do same argument then if NZ is a plus 46 over gilas, but lost to Jordan by 16 , therefor Jordan is plus 30 over Gilas, obviosuly Bahrami kind of logic does not work LOL

it makes the point that beating a team ( Australia , Nz, US ) doesen't mean much, what matters is consistency win loss record % in world level competition , that is the metric that matters

                  I don't think haha

I just stated the obvious and fact

NZ tall blacks are just lucky they may never have to face GILAS current rosters in their FIBA world qualification haha

NBL bench players are not so out of reach really in terms of skills/talent level of players versus asian players lol

actually it is very possible that there is a bigger % of Gilas players who make the world cup team than the NZL team in 1st window and 3rd window and Asia cup ( college students)

and really the 2016 OQT Gilas team was super competitive ( we may never play France that close again)

I disagree bro. The door is still wide, wide open for Sotto. Plenty of time for him to improve.

I will say it again. Sotto is in a good place in Adelaide. Their starting center is at the tail end of his career. Kai is the next in line in that position. And will probably take that spot in a year or two.

He just has to use the FIBA window performances as motivation to play better at Adelaide.

people here in adelaide loves him.. and i also said it before, he’s in good position not because he’s with my team but he’s in perfect scenario, perfect team..

Correct phrase. Sotto is in a perfect scenario. He is the next in line for the starting center position. He just has to be patient and improve further. Leaving Adelaide would like pressing the re-start button.

Before we think ahead in the NBA, the fans have to be realistic and think first hand his NBL performance and how he can develop and improve. Don?t compare him yet to guys who are in the NBA because those are different type of players with different type of skills, physicality and athleticism.

Let us stay grounded and just not over think to the NBA. He is still a few steps below NBA level type of a center.

If Kai can't even complete against his single draft class, what makes you think he has a chance competing against the entire NBA free agent market lol.

Also when Daniel Johnson retires, look for Adelaide to bring a quality import replacement for that position. There is no guarantee Kai will ever get the starting job due to retirement lol.

I wish Kai could play Saudi Arabia quality competition every night.

Serious question would PBA teams beat this Saudi team?
I have no idea. I was not able to watch the Saudi game as my itinerary for early Monday mornings has always been the NFL. Sorry Gilas has to take a backseat for my Dallas Cowboys. Hehe

                              Sorry for the OT. Ahihi
