So now people are making a huge fuss about rebounding and have suddenly downplayed scoring and shooting efficiency.

Why is it when Kai has a good rebounding game people downplay it because he?s 7 feet and ask for more scoring, but when Kai has a good scoring and shooting game the talk then shifts to rebounding?

I think Kai is a better rebounder now than last year. Positions himself the right way and box out before looking for the ball.

Maybe people in this thread are just in awe how the hell a PG 6'1" having more rebounds than their bigs haha.

Well, I'm not one of these folks since I kind of expected that from MVP iskati. That's his normal game.

And our bigs where also doing their part putting their bodies inside and boxing out. I'm not sure why the ball keeps falling near iskati

or is it iskati's quickness to position himself in an advantage to grab the rebounds haha. High motor and never looked fatigue. Iskati is our best PG for the world cup.

Kai had a solid game. I could never asked for more as he should composure the whole game. It looked like he carried the whole gilas team in that second half.

Japeth and Koume always solid defender. It was a great game. Coach Chot and Cone was proactive than reactive during that game. In game adjustment was

amazing testament to their long successful PBA coaching career.

Having Coach Tim really was a great addition, instead of having "just" Josh as lead assistant

I saw that. I think Jordan made a run and Chot called a timeout. Tim talked to Chot for several seconds before Chot could get to the players. It looks like Cone will take the reins of the team after 2023.

It was Chot's instructions and adjustment after talking to Cone .

In 5 years time. I bet he will be a top 7, if not top 5 Center in Asia. (Barring Any Injuries)

Difference of having a good coaching staff, if SBP can do it in the seniors, hopefully they can replicate it on the jrs. also, Josh will still be the coach of course but SBP should surround him with capable assistant coaches.

Having a passport (Euro or Asian ) is really a factor on why certain players can play in Euro league or Australia NBL, why ? Cause they eventually make the league as a special restricted player (Euro or Asian passport). Realize 1GDL has a Euro passport (Spanish).
It's really much more difficult to make it as an open import classification (cause you're competing vs everyone (mostly Americans)

Another example is NP Majok of Lebanon, he has an Australian passport so played in the NBL as a local, while other NP do not make the grade as open import in the NBL (Many of which are NBA players )

Absolutely any individual including me can calculate what Kai's salary range based on the public information provided ( verified ) , how ? the top 16 list of salary earned are published , then we also have the reports of the total spend of the team ( note this is a soft cap, not a hard cap , what this means is while Kai's salary is not part counted as part of the cap, it is included in the total spend report .

if you just read what you posted you will realise the cap is in reference to PV ( player value) , so basically the way they regulate spend is based on how many players you have per PV

example of PV (player value classification)
How many Marquee players (max 4)
how many import
how many DP
how many NS
5 bench players etc etc

Now do the math , the 36ers where obligated to submit their total spend for last season the total spend was $ 1.5 M , 140 k below the $ 1.7 . note total spend is NOT the CAP , it's offical accounting records

so this is the math , Mitch at least $ 300k ( confirmed reported ) , Humpries $ 400 K ( again confirmed ) , DJ (200k) imports Hannahs and Withers ( 175 k each ) at least , - So that adds up to $ 1.2 M for top 5 players , there is $ 300k balance , the development player and next star King (paid by NBL) i will assume as zero salary ( which is silly already) , so there are 4 regular remaining players to share $ 300 k ( note 11 contracted players in roster) . let's just assume the 3 others except Kai get the mininum, around $ 50 K, so there.. you only have $ 150 k remaining for Kai.
Again this is not a salary cap report but a spend report ( mandated by the NBL offcies )

so abosolutely any person with access to the public records when calculated can estimate Kai's salary to be no more than $ 150 k , this is not guess work , but actually computed and verified using logic with the figures provided by the NBL

So when considering Kai Sotto?s international appeal, his designation as a SRP and the pay scale of NBL Marquee Players and imports, it wouldn?t be unfair to speculate the big man is making anywhere between $150k - $300k USD (200k - 400k AUD) for his three-year deal.

If we based it on your logic, why is zhou qi earning twice than JLA, Mitch creek or Xavier Cooks? DJ is on the tail-end of his career. He might score big sometimes but he cant consistently do it and a liability on defense.

Kai's salary is not part of ADL's salary cap. ADL could give Kai whatever amount they want. Also regarding Kai's perf yesterday, Kai is still a 20yr old. He was outweighed by Dwairi by at least 30pounds more or less. Kai was really great playing at around 20minutes.

Absolutely the spend report (not salary cap based on # of PV) is 100 % more accurate than that article you posted.. It's littierally a report from the NBL Offices . Don't you understand that?
These are not my opinions, it's littierally a published report released by NBL office. They littierally published the names and salary of the top 16 earners .
Pay is not based on performance, Humphries got a big pay check cause he was in demand when he signed his contract, JLA was a imitd minute reserve back up to Landale when he signed his contract. (So was under valued)
