For Chiu and Kemark Carino types, the PBA is OK. They're well-suited for that game as a big, being asked just to defend the paint and rebound. As for Carino, just need to add strength without sacrificing mobility so as to be able to play 4, kind of like Almazan and Erram. Better nga if both went to Yeng.

But for Justine Baltazar, Kevin Quiambao, and Carl Tamayo types, that's where it gets murky, since guys that size with their mobility and skillset aren't that common in the Philippines. They need to be in a situation where they are still free to play as tweeners, not converted to traditional bigs. KBL's still a better option for them, with less world imports and all that.

Balti needs to work on his team defense, and post defense, for him to get minutes. I feel like the post defense is why he's being passed over. That's been a concern since his first two FIBA games. He's better as a switch guy and team defender than as a post defender.

Kobe needs a refinement in his game. I like his athleticism, his aggressiveness and hid defense though.

You're overestimating current NBA players. Take Alan Williams for example. I think he's in Melbourne? The last time I saw him play he was turning the ball over multiple times during NBL Blitz. Alan Williams doesn't have any semblance of range, but I can say he's an NBA caliber player. Range is important in today's modern basketball.

I do think that Kai's skills are at that level already, the problem is his mentality. He doesn't have the grit, the dog in him. Remember our kid has scored 11 pts on an NBA court against a very good NBA team, even if they choked in the playoffs last year. No matter how much people say he's not NBA caliber, the fact that he did well will never go away. I still believe in the kid's potential.



Despite my opinions about how CJ should rotate Kai into the roster, I've never hated him at all. In fact I'd say that me predicting CJ doing this based on the past season should be proof that I hold no hatred towards him. Only those f***ed in the head would watch things that they hate. That's why I stopped watching the PBA, I hate what they've become now.

Adelaide has done monumental things for the NBL. It's just too bad that basketball as a sport isn't as big as it could be over there, which is why I think CJ is doing infomercials now.

No one is overestimating current NBA players, they are in the NBA for a reason that much must be respected.

Scoring 11 points in an exhibition game doesn't mean Kai is already in NBA level. Mingxin Ju of Shanghai Sharks scored 9 points against Houston and no one is saying is already an NBA level talent - from what I watched Kai showed potential in developing to a better 3 point shooter (judging from his shooting form from his lone 3 point conversion) and he was able to use his length and jumping ability in the paint but aside from those he was sub par in terms of NBA level. it's just not me saying that, most of the basketball experts here and abroad have the same sentiments.

Team kai should be thankful to cj coz:
1. He believed in kai during his first season in nbl. The coach was expecting a lot from him that he would worked on his craft to prepare for this season.
2. Kai was given chance to play against NBA teams but the coach has probably completed his assessment with the players. CJ wants to have winning team with the reliable players added during the offseason.
3. He doesn?t give ?pack? to hate comments coming from the peenoise community.

True, to be fair with coach CJ, he remains a professional despite all the ruckus the peenoise fans are generating. At the end of the day his goal is to win, and if Kai can help him win games then there is no reason for him not to let Kai do so
