Gleague is croc central, because every player on the team is looking to stat pad their numbers and will stab their team mates in the back for a 10 day contract.
the only way for him to get noticed by scouts is not through stat padding ang highlight plays, ut through advance metrics or in short, by being the glue guy/blue collar worker which teams needs. Lets face it, kid may never be an all star or focal point of offense in the NBL (moreover in the NBA), best way for him to secure a bigger long term contract/be noticed by scouts in the west (euro or nba), as mentioned here by numerous posters is through his hustle and defense. Sad to say I think his handlers are still too preoccupied packaging Kai as a unicorn. Didnt work the 1st time

No, this is not true at all.

For a while now, while it's still about pace and space, NBA teams have realized that you can still do pace and space with bigger teams. Boston is big, Philly is big, Milwaukee is big, Houston is big, Dallas traded away Brunson so they got bigger, OKC has been trying to build size for a while now with Poku, Giddey, and now Chet, and next season will be an arms race for Victor. Also I think the Spurs and Hornets are trying to get into the size race. Suns are trying out Point Booker more with CP3 possibly retiring next season. The Ball bros, Ben Simmons, Russell Westbrook, and James Harden have been "big pointguards" so far. Steph is an anomaly. Teams aren't just looking for 6'7-6'9 wings, they're also looking at guards for that. Unless another Steph-esque talent comes through the draft, we're looking at a size-filled NBA in the future, where unicorns the size of Wilt are routinely running down the court like Giannis.

Small ball is less about height and more about skills, and you’re right, more 7footers are becoming small ball type bigs because of their guard skills and ability to run up and down the floor, not to mention ball handlers are getting bigger like you pointed out. Realistically how many 7footers can run up and down the floor and guard the perimeter is still rare but probably going to become more normal in the future. The league is trending towards small ball type basketball. 6’8 pgs with 7footers like Wembanyama running around.

My issue is just with the designation. I understand that Small Ball is associated with using speed to run circles around slower big opponents. But now that the NBA is recruiting bigs who can run just as fast, does the phrase Small Ball still fit? Also, with bigger players comes the return of the "90s unskilled paint protectors" because while everyone might grow bigger, not everyone will be able to shoot.

I put those in quotes because there's no way bigs like Cartwright, Purdue, and Longley were unskilled. They just looked like it because their job was the dirty work down low.

          • 1GDL’s first practice with BC Wolves. They’re really courting the Pinoy audience if they made a 12 minute video and posted on their official YT channel.

              Quick summary of GLeague salaries:

              G League Drafted Players (Basic Contract/Under 18 yrs old) ? $7400 monthly
Select Players ? $125 000 plus call up pay
Assigned Players ? Pro-rated NBA salary/NBA Salary depending on player?s contract
Two Players ? Standard G League Contract of $7000/ Select Player pay of $125 000 + NBA Two-Player Pro-Rated Pay of NBA minimum contract

...the $35K is for 5 months, thus the $7K monthly. That's excluding benefits and bonuses. Still small compared to other basketball salaries, but not as small if one thinks that it's for one whole year. And it's usually below 18 yr old kids who get that minimum amount. Jalen Green received $500K for his GLeague season (Select Player).

Lithuania is famously the country that rivals the Philippines in terms of basketball fandom.

No, Lebanon is a basketball country. Fadi El-Khatib is an icon there.

                          • SJ Belangel has been pretty solid in his first four KBL games. 10 PPG on 53% shooting (28.6% from 3), 4.5 RPG, 3.5 APG.

With their current FIFA rankings (from 147th to 81st in 2016, then now at 77th) suggesting moderate success these past few years, I believe football is now a very close second to basketball in Lebanon.
