Injuries to AJ Edu, Jamie Malonzo, & recently to Kai Sotto & Kevin Quiambao in a span of 1 year simply suggests the need for coach Tim to expand his pool. I'm not talking about expanding the Gilas pool/team to 10 players or more. I'm just talking about adding 3 to 4 players to the Gilas pool so as the unavailability of some players from time to tim, usually becoz of injuries, will not hurt the team that much. I understand coach Tim's apprehension of making a big pool of players for Gilas becoz having a big pool would mean difficulty in developing team cohesion or chemistry. But I think the ideal No. Of players in a national pool is around 18 players. Also, this is a 4-year cycle so coach Tim has all the time in the world to develop cohesion & chemistry in the pool/team.

Of course, during their early stint with Gilas the additional players would struggle learning & adjusting with the triangle, but as time goes by, as they practice more & play more games with Gilas, they will get more adjusted & accustomed to coach Tim's system.

SJ, RJ, Heading, Navarro, Baltazar, and QMB (if he’s eligible) are obvious must-includes in the pool.

I hope Tim reconsiders prior to the Asia Cup.

Next window is understandable as it’s only two games and not a lot can be done.

I just hope Edu stays healthy till then.

At this point I just think its politics. It seems Chua doesnt want certain guys. Probably guys like Berto, Heading, Balti. Cone is losing warm bodies. The funny thing is he would rather get a 3rd level guy like Cu than add somebody more qualified to the pool.

simple solution is to have a team b and assign one of his assistants to handle team b with system so once that he’s ripe for team A, It’s easy transition.

I fully understand CTC's apprehension on why he is not warm of a bigger pool because of some factors.

I think GSM players Maverick, Ralph and Japeth fits the narrative.

I totally agree on adding QMB if indeed his green covered document has just been renewed(?)

if AK34's exemption process is still in the back burner then let him occupy that naturalize spot for the meantime

and let JB rest in preparation for that main event.

as for RJ there's no doubt about his skillsets against mid-tier Asian teams he can compete with them no argument on that

but if the storyline is pitting him against the likes of the Webster bros. of the TB., Arakji of the LEB, Ailun of CHI, Cotton of AUS,

even the much smaller Akatsuki's like Yuri and Yuki whom we all know schooled the Blitz during his B. League days.

well the bloodline of the Flying A needs some more seasoning to toughen his mojo moving forward.

well I later realized that they need an amount of time to familiarize with the system

so I think the ideal scenario is to put them after this conference for the preparation for the actual training camp

for 2025 FIBA Asia Cup

Berto has some issues before
Balti has some issues (the asian games call up drama?) and Delta being Balti’s manager
Heading has some issues but him playing with converge and delta being around?
SJ, who is having an All star year, has some words before with SBP
BRP jr. who is having a good scoring year again, left PBA on some issues (mostly contract)
Kiefer, who most here doesn’t appreciate his game, left pba with some controversy

Look Kquiam playing in KBL is Okay with chua but not to others who has issues with PBA/SBP

Berto used to sign short term contract before and was always excluded during negotiations time. Then left the SMC camp

SJ probably won't ever get that call up because he used to clown them on Socmed

BRP didn't leave on good terms, depends on Chua

Kiefer, probably isn't the type of player that Cone wants

Those three have fully mastered the Tim's system and are also very intelligent so they can pass on the system to the team b players for easy transition. Oh how I love having a Gilas team B. I love to see players like Jordan Heading, Baltazar, Arvin Tolentino, Will Navarro, Ken Tuffin, CJ Cansino, Jonel Policarpio, Justin Arana, Francis Lopez, QMB, etc. in Gilas team B.

But it seems nobody among SBP & SMC people are talking about it.

Those 3 players are mason, japeth and ange. Right now cone added troy because he is learning the system with Ginebra. We want our favorite players in that's why.

So what are Cu and Rosario then? Why not just add actual pool players and not the best available GSM player? When he recently added Japeth again he said, find me another 6'9 player who can protect the rim. No arguments from me there. But when he added perennial FIBA under-achiever Rosario what's his excuse?
