this is like a confidence booster going forward.
2027 WCQ won't be a walk in the park.
we don’t want to lose our confidence.

Let’s not overexcite ourselves.
We need to beat NZ this November.
While credit goes to Coach Tim & our Gilas boys for beating China in last year's Asian Games (we actually beat China twice in a row counting that win in the 2023 World Cup), I think it was a game that could have gone either way. Kumbaga eh may halong kunting swerte din yung panalo natin as Justin Brownlee played one of his best games in international competitions. But as they say, a win is a win so we just took that victory in whatever shape or form.
I agree with U bro, let's not get overexcited with those wins over China last year to the point that we would think that Gilas is now better than China or that Philippine basketball has now overtaken Chinese basketball. U bet China would like to bounce back & get back at us as soon as possible. We must be prepared for that."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

There are a fuckton of good coaches that would love to handle our NT but as long as sumasawsaw etong sila Chua, it’s pointless.

(1) Their billion plus population is guaranteed to produce 100 players standing 6’7+ every generation.
(2) Their basketball infrastructure is already established.
(3) Strong youth programs
Underestimating China is a foolish mistake. They should never be written off.

This I say, if Gilas will have a complete roster in next year's FIBA Asia Cup, with several key players healthy & available - Kai, Brownlee, Dwight, Iskati, Newsome, AJ Edu, Malonzo, Junmar & the team be given at least 1 month of full time training plus a good No. of tune-up games (5 to 6 tune up games), I'm confident we have a good chance to win the gold."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. I think Mason Amos will again fill-up the slacks on the injured Jamie
