    There are really a lot of evils/devils in Phi basketball. Yung pinaka demonyo dyan eh yung long hair who is very much involved both in pro & college basketball.

    Two groups, which are frontline and backcourt.

    Frontline: Go, Navarro, Rangel, Kouame, Tamayo, Chiu, Baltazar
    Backourt: Nieto twins, Suerte, Bulanadi, Tungcab, Belangel, Ildefonso

    Hope more batches come, and we see more kids come into Gilas camp.

          Hope to see Anonuevo, Quiambao & Lantaya in Gilas training as well.

            Anonuevo, pwede pa. Quiambao, I'm a little hopeful that he goes Gilas, because of Baltazar as a precedent. Thing is, Baltazar has a different handler, which is why he could attend training.

            Lantaya, well, ayun. He's in Letran with Chua. However, I did remember reading that Rhenz Abando once said that he would be picked had he gone to Ateneo or Beda.

              Everything that would be associated with Long Hair is detrimental for Philippine basketball.

                Any news of the possible Gilas stint in the PBA 2nd conference?

                  He would have been included if he picked any other school besides Letran. He tried to make it sound like players from San Beda and Ateneo were chosen based on their school and not their abilities/potential.

                  He knew the deal. He knows what Longhair is doing yet he still chose Letran and say things like that? Sounds like he's passing the buck. I dunno what to make of this kid. And this is after leaving UST.

                    And there's already an impression among fans in comments that a requirement that you have to be from Ateneo in order to get into Gilas.

                      Yeah. Most likely Long Hair is telling Letran players that coach Tab, the entire Gilas coaching staff & SBP are playing favorites that they recruit for Gilas mostly players from Ateneo & UP while ignoring players with good potential from other schools. That is when in truth & in fact, ayaw lang talagang payagan ni Long Hair ang Letran players to train/play for Gilas & some schools like La Salle are also prohibiting their players from joining the Gilas program.

                      Walang hiya, dini demonized pa nila ang Gilas program.

                          Di ba? EFF longhair. All the players from Ateneo and San Beda that were part of the program deserved to get in. Who would he honestly replaced besides Mike?(no offense to Mike's fans) and even that is iffy (I heard Mike is a gym rat good luck trying to beat him in practice). Oftana? Javi? Dwight? Kobe? Suerte? Even Dave got buried in the bench.

                          If there's anyone to blame it's himself for choosing to side with long hair despite knowing he'll likely never play for GILAS if he chose Letran.

                            The only guys he can beat out right now are Mike, Javi and Suerte (and this is because of the upside). Abando's a good shooter and a decent defender, and is athletic like Thirdy, and can finish, but that's pretty much it. He can't exactly create for himself, which Oftana, Dwight, Suerte, and Dave can. Even Javi is a better shot creator.

                            Pero kasi, that athleticism, length, and shooting is already upside. I see that he has more upside than Mike, Javi, and Suerte. And he's kinda young, being 23. That's why it's tough to leave out a guy like Abando. And come on, you can work on things like shot creation. Jimmy Butler and Kawhi Leonard for example.

                                Eto, a. This current pool pa lang, only 9 out of 16 are from Ateneo. UP has only Tamayo and Tungcab. Then we have Suerte (UE), Bulanadi (SSC), Rangel (NU), Baltazar (DLSU), and Lepalam (CSB).

                                That said, I'd still like for more quality players from whatever school to join the Gilas pool. I hope Tab's scouts keep noticing quality players, Ateneo or otherwise.
