I would like to see how Cone adjusts without JF or Kouame. Edu even when healthy is not a reliable scorer in the paint. They wont have that paint presence. I havent seen the triangle succeed without one or two sublime scorers who can score in the paint. From MJ with his fadeaways to Shaq and Kobe. Even GSM bogs down IMO without its advantage in talent even with CS there.
Lets see how Cone adjusts without a sublime scorer or post presence.

As far a young homegrown option slightly above the level of chiu, i would like raven cortez to be given consideration, if he can improve his physical strength and stay healthy he is as better option than chiu at 4, longer and good defender and better offense than chiu, he was actually a mobile big back then that he can even guard a 3 during his youth days but injuries have slow him down

But because another big is taking the NP spot, we need to look for an able local wing to replace JB.
I have no doubt the guard spots are in good hands but very worried that due to Junemar's impending departure we need to sacrifice the wing spot (JB/JC) for a big again.
That's a very tough shoe to fill for a local but Holt exemption can solve this problem. Or let's ask for the stars and hope for a JC exemption.
Anyway that was out of topic, but I think Brix should be assimilated with cadet-level team already at least. We need to fast track his development so we can stick with a naturalized wing instead of going with Boatwright.Manifesting: Philippines top 5 in the FIBA World Rankings

Glad to see 6-foot-4 Dwight Ramos playing the 2-guard spot now with Gilas which wasn't the case with Gilas under coach Chot Reyes. It's always been a dream seeing 6-foot-4/6-foot-5 natural shooting guards in the national team. As I've said a couple of times before, I want to make a distinction between a 2-guard/shooting guard and a small forward or 3 spot though both are considered as wings. Calvin Oftana & Jamie Malonzo are considered wings but I don't think any of them can play the 2-guard spot in high level basketball.
I can't help but wish that Gilas has another athletic 6-foot-4 natural shooting guard. Imagine a 6-foot-4 Chris Newsome or 6-foot-4 Jordan Heading in Gilas uniform. That would be gravy.Last edited by JAMSKIE; 07-21-2024, 04:40 AM."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV
