Dont get me wrong, I really like the no non sense approach we have in selecting the A team but we need to really also looka t development, what was wrong with chot regime is that he tried to mixed developemnt and competitiveness to his teams (tats why we have a large pool) in qualifiers that served as tryout) but now we need a real team b were we will use in certain tournaments (such as Jones cup or sorts), And tim dont tell me you got your roster improvements from the so called Ginebra b team (northport) hehhe.. you will get your Gilas improvment from a team b also..

Yeah in a way but heck they already defeated a Jordan team with 2 naturalized players.. New zealand a cant breeze past Jordan..One things for sure, if they will face a rude awakening they will have a good comeback thats the difference of this program from the previous one..

NZL is like a upgrade version of Korea.. taller and buffer version… teams like Lebanon and Jordan able to match them because they have the size to match up against them… this current team of Gilas have the size to match up vs NZL… only need to do is to more effort on defense playing against NZL

Let Norman black handle the gilas team b that will play in some minor tournaments

We need a Team B for replacements. We will need replacements for JB, June Mar, and Newsome, and they're probably needed after next year.

At saka, whatever system on offense and defense the Team A uses, the same should be used for Team B.

What were doing in prev regime is that we do free flowing offense (so that) we will try to get our players be familiar with international atmosphere but the case here is in real tournaments the defense gets tighter and eventually they cant use their so called dribble drive skills afterall so might as well work in a system

The problem is outside of Sotto, Edu, Tamayo and Baltazar we dont have any more young notable agile and tall players. Mike Phillips could shore up the frontline if he gets cleared to be a local but beyond that gilas doesnt have anyone else in the pipeline it seems.

And to think they would enlist an old Japeth as a replacement while they could have taken a young player like an Arana, Baltazar or Amos to fill in the roster.

We will only have Kai and Karl. Kai has stamina issues. While Karl is not known for rim protection. Also, Cone really wants to practice his system. That cant work if we’re just relying on JB in the frontline.

Hongkong ad taiwan is the speediest team that we will face between now and oqt.. if Junmar somehow can keep pace he might be a bucket getter come OQT

Agreed on both counts, especially against Taiwan. I don't really remember a game where we could comfortably pull away against them.

I still think we should focus on attacking in transition first. Quicken the pace. Coach Tim showed some willingness to do that with Ginebra this past conference. But yes, a halfcourt system will be necessary if the transition defense is set, or if we have a slow and/or old lineup.

Are they that good? Is there really a chance if them beating this team? TBH my memory of Ateneo defeating them might be making me too biased.

Rumors spreading in Taiwan's camp that they have problems in their line up, In fact only 7 players attending in Taiwan's training session.. Their basketball program is in mess right now...

Come OQT CTC will have a rude awakening, that JB is nkt a 4 and the only reason why he was a passable 4 was Ange, both served as anchors on D. Gilas can easily defeat the low tiered Asian teams, but once we face the asian heavyweights (Aus,NZ, Skor, China, Japan, Iran, Lebanon) and those Euro and Americas teams, we mkght have Yeng Guiao 2019 results

It wouldn't be so bad if they have at least Balti,he looks like the kind of guy that would fit Cone's system and a better fit than the old JA.But as we all know Chot is gone but the politics side of SBP/GILAS stays the same.It won't be the first time that he'll be in for a rude awakening,the first time he handled the NT,he thought he had a very strong team,until those US DIV 1 schools handed his ass in a silver platter and just obliterated his system.But knowing CTC he will rather stick to the system and get the players he thinks are a good fit,he believes his system is the winning formula not just the players.
