Actually, it's kinda good that we have two cores. One from the Asiad, and one from the June 2021 window/2021 OQT/2021 FIBA Asia Championship.

Asian Games: Scottie, Newsome, June Mar, Oftana, Brownlee (NP), Ange (NP), Perez
June 2021 window/2021 OQT: SJ, RJ, Carl, Dwight, Navarro, Ange (NP), Kai, Balti

I think we should combine the cores into a single pool, as they both have trained and played together, so thus they have chemistry. Add other guys who have helped like Abando, Parks, AJ, Mason, Heading, Carino, Javi, Lopez and even past players such as Bolick, maybe Terrence (although I think only one of the two should be chosen, since both are scorers and both are defensive liabilities). New guys like Maverick Ahanmisi, Gian Mamuyac, and Justin Arana could use a try.

        Sir Joe,

he should be eligible now..it's almost 10 years..established his family here with his full-blooded wife and kids and some businesses as well.

that Asian Games non-inclusion is worth a merit sana...malaking bagay sana yun eh.

let's see what Ms. Erika Dy's team will do one of these days.

maybe they're awaiting for a handful of individuals to had a much cheaper bargain if ever there's an administrative fee along the way.

        isang package na lang kumbaga.

Perkins though is even shorter than Ping. He's probably around 6'2 to 6'3 ish

And he's now 31, and not the defender that Ping is.

            • I think if the SBP does try to apply for FIBA exemptions of PBA players, it would be ideal if they focus on players that are under 30 years old like BGR (29 y/o), Keith Datu (28 y/o), Jeremiah Gray (27 y/o), Luis Villegas (26 y/o) and Zav Lucero (25 y/o).

              • Jolas is currently the frontrunner for Gilas team manager.

I don't know if Jolas is the wisest choice for team manager, given what has happened with TNT the past year.

                    Sir Joe,

The Hefty Lefty is already ripe for that exemption, a healthy(no major injury) Jason Perkins can be serviceable until 2027 if given the opportunity.

If a player was unable to obtain a local passport by the age of 16 but studied and played professionally in that country, he will be granted local status. It usually takes 10 years to complete the residency.
This was the case used for Greg Slaughter and Chris Newsome and will be used for Jason Perkins this year and Michael Phillips in at least six more years.
For its part, FIBA will continue to implement its current regulations for the foreseeable future.
“As a rule, the Central Board is clear: one naturalized player per team. This is the No. 1 principle that I do not see changing. And No. 2 — the criteria for someone to get eligibility are clear: you have a passport, you are eligible. If you had a passport after the age of 16, we have to see if you had significant links with the country. And if you didn’t, then you fall under the naturalized category. It’s a very difficult rule, said Zagklis.

So pretty much he's a yes guy on Tim Cone's wishes of players in the lineup,so SMC still controlling behind the scenes without showing that they're controlling the scene, thus if it failed fingers points at Jolas.

                      • So our much criticized NSA are encouraging the public to submit proposals for positive changes within FIBA.

I hope our fellow IBners here has the audacity, to somehow submit something.

Applicants must identify one of five project categories: Basketball for Health and Wellbeing, for Equality and Inclusion, for Culture and Education, for Peace and Conflict Resolution, or for Climate and Environment.

“We at the SBP would like to encourage all basketball stakeholders in the Philippines to apply for the grant,” said Executive Director Erika Dy.

We are aware that many Filipinos are already using basketball for good, and we would like them to tap into FIBA Foundation’s resources to push their projects forward and maximize the impact in their respective communities.”

Not ready yet but ill def propose the same eligibility process that FIFA has, u18 regardless of its natural citizenship has grown and trained (in this case) basketball on this country

Id like a bigger reach for our grassroots but its messy to deal with LGUs, unless maybe a major entity decides to meddle (ie saudi)

                            • San Miguel Beer import Bennie Boatwright Jr. won’t hesitate to suit up for the Philippines if he’s asked to be naturalized and said yesterday it would be an honor to play with Gilas.

San Miguel team manager Gee Abanilla said Boatwright would be a fitting candidate for Gilas. “He’s just 27, really highly-skilled,” said Abanilla. “He has a very good attitude. He thinks it would be great to be invited (for naturalization) and it would be such an honor for him. The international game, in my opinion, would fit his style of play. He can shoot outside, can pass, handles the ball well and stands 6-10 with shoes.” Boatwright was measured 6-8 3/8 by the PBA, laying flat on his back.

San Miguel coach Jorge Gallent described Boatwright as an “all-around player (who) can open the floor for his teammates.” In the PBA, Boatwright is hitting 54 percent from the floor, 42.6 percent from beyond the arc and 68 percent from the line. He played for the Detroit Pistons once and Indiana Pacers twice in three NBA Summer Leagues and saw action in Israel and Mexico before landing in the PBA.

                                Sir Joe,

You alongside Sir Dave, Sir Nardy, Sir SK, Sir Metta, IPC, Armir, CoJ among others may somehow chip in something because you guys had some good insights as far as the landscape are concern.

                                Thank you.

                                P.S.

I had no intention on putting someone on the spotlight, I stand to be corrected on this if someone had a different impression on this posted message of mine.
