Same here as well but not like those Puso! Puso! thing..we need something new.

as for those drumbeats on both UAAP and NCAA, sorry guys but don't be touchy on this esp. on those fellow IBNers, that century old gimmickry are not ear friendly at all. need to compose something that reflects each school's spirit without the dongs and gongs sounds.(it sounds someone will be thrown down inside a life size pot as an offering to those African gods and tribesmen, just like on those good old Tarzan movies with the cannibals, really creepy indeed).

sorry ha..masakit talaga sa tenga eh..sa totoo lang.
not a problem, but Im not sure what you can come up with that can overpower 10K+ people screaming on an indoor stadium that wont hurt your ear. even a vuvuzela from one of the football WC would start to get to you after a few mins if enough people blows on them.

he picked the realistic choice. when rumors that SMC will take over a year ago or so, majority here said CTC will the most likely choice. still is. nothing new really.

Maybe because my ears are conditioned of the noise of the US NCAA March Madness compared to our noise which is very intense on my taste...that is why drumbeats in an open air venue like the football games are more tolerable because the impact of the frequency are loose compared to an in-house venue.

          • I stand to be corrected on this.

Then she brought up the idea of finally having a professional women’s basketball league in the country.

“The industry is very young when it comes to women’s basketball. It’s gone a long way since the day that I was playing. It’s much better right now,” she said. “But we have yet to see a sustainable professional league.”

            She has a point.
so meaning, even though women basketball has come a long way, it's not yet the right time to establish such league in the immediate future because she hasn't seen(?) if it is sustainable moving forward.

well, as I said, we are still in the recovering mood as far as finances are concern despite the fact that there an increase of high level talents not only locally but also internationally specifically players who are already in their Seniors/Graduating years at the US NCAA like VDJ of Duke, Laila Phelia of Univ. of Michigan, Malia Bambrick of Pepperdine U, Mai-Loni Henson amongst the few.

nakakapanghinayang kasi those beauties got games and assuming they haven't got the nod to play in WNBA which only had a few teams now because of some disbandment here and there, I think it's high time already to establish something on the 5v5 side.

a baby steps is worth an achievement compared to no steps at all.

And yes, he did get us a Hail-Mary Asian Games gold medal. No one can take that away, not even those assholes from the China doping apparatus.

Earl Timothy Cone loves a Ginebra finish. So maybe he'll be a placeholder for that never-say-die weasel Chot.

                    Cone says there's nothing defnite.

He admitted talking to SBP, though. He just suggested to wait for SBP's official announcement.

Just looking at their moves you would think Heading has a more basic game. Not really speedy or flashy. But he is more effective. But it seems he is still recovering.
Wright is a better playmaker, actually. But yes, he's a poor defender and is not a good FIBA performer.

If Wright were developed and used as a dual-threat guard who can shoot and pass (which was his role with Phoenix), he might have performed better.

Hopefully he does make the transition to 3/2. At 6'5", he needs to play more on the perimeter. And credit to his work ethic.

Agree with U bro. Wright also seems hesitant to take 3's in the FIBA game especially if he's not that open. Parang kailangan he is wide open from 3 for him to take the shot. Unlike with Jordan Heading na pag napasahan sa corner 3 eh automatic titira na without any hesitation.

                            • It would have been better if other college standouts like CJ Cansino, Francis Lopez, Mike Philipps were included in the Strong Group team.

It's wild that when I said that KQ can be a 3 about a year ago, so many were critical saying he's just an undersized big who can't even shoot. Now people see his potential even as a 2.

I think it would depend on what his optimal playing weight is. He can test if he will be more effective if he gets a bit leaner as a 2. But I think, as is, he is best suited as a 3 to better utilize his passing. I prefer 2s as the designated shoot-first type.

But again, this is on the offensive side, things have changed. If we can have 2 or more gilas-level players of his versatility then we can truly have a dynamic position-less lineup.
