Giving back for the blessings you've received is playing for the country. It's different if these guys weren't blessed, in that case pay them, but I hope they understand the transaction here.Last edited by Sikatrix; 10-10-2023, 08:58 PM.

Guys, what are your assessments on Calvin Oftana's overall performance in the recent Asian Games?
He had his struggles in the tournament but I think overall he didn't do badly. How was his defense in the overall tournament, especially in Gilas's last 3 big games vs. Iran, China & Jordan?
I think defensively Oftana isn't in the level of a prime Gabe Norwood. But the thing is, Oftana is a better offensive player than Gabe & he has more confidence in his offense than the usually passive Gabe. Oftana also has a better shooting touch from three than Gabe."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

the potential is there, all he needs is to have some "kapal ng mukha" as he needs to shoot more

It will not happen since the fans are too high in Asian games victory… for sure they will look those players who won the gold… and for sure b league and KBL players are always available..
The way Marcial made it sound like it would be just PBA players, since they won the gold without the overseas guys,he's very confident.

With Marcial and SMC,this is the start of no overseas players needed,PBA is still superior in Asia mode.If they lose, its a conspiracy of refs, organizers,FIBA,etc, never their fault.

He needs to take chances and attack the basket more. Take open shots if given the chance and don’t hesitate.
You’re a 6'5 guy with range and passable handles, utilize them!

he was on his way to being "the man" with yeng guiao but when he was traded to tnt he had to share the ball with williams, pogoy and jayson castro, and most of the time he seems to defer to them

Oftana was probably better off with Yeng. He actually doesnt belong to any of the types Chot likes. He is not an explosive guard with excellent handles and shooting. He is not an athletic forward the likes of Kelly or Norwood. He is not a bruising PF in the likes of RDO and Ping. Lastly, he is a decent defender but not the physical at times a bit dirty one like Pogoy, Khobuntin or Montalbo.
