As important as playmaking is, shot creating should also be emphasized imo. Overpassing that leads to wasted posessions or turnovers have been a huge headache to watch in Gilas teams that doesn't have a Terrence Romeo, Jayson Castro or Jordan Clarkson or when they're on the bench. Every posession that ends up looking like a game of hot potato that leads to nowhere or worse leads to turnovers really highlights how amateur this team is but it's been a problem with pba-select teams too against international opponents espescially with the absence of Romeo and Castro. This is far more important now that every player has probably been scouted already as well as the teams go-to plays, our opponents will have a far easier time telegraphing our plays moving forward as well as our players tendencies.

And Jolo is even older than Belangel, right? If Jolo is no point guard then he's no good for Gilas. If naliliitan tayo kay Belangel, who is 5-foot-10, for the PG spot, then what more for a 5-10/5-11playing as a shooting guard."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. agreed on this take Gilas badly need this type of players at least have one in their roster capable of doing (ISO plays) after watching most of the Olympics game of teams like Australia (patty) and (Luka) Slovenia are one of the best shot creators when there team need points.. and IMO Ramos, Ravena are not there yet.

Anyway, as Kiefer has shown, it isn't too late to transition. But Kief has always had crazy bbiq even when he was a ball-hogging chucker, that's what I have yet to see from Jolo.

Romeo would have been perfect for this role. Currently out of all of the young guns 1GDL is more than capable to have this role as well but we already know what happened between him and the team but I hope to see him back in Gilas after they can get along again.
