    • And before everyone gets carried away, don't forget that an Olympic berth basically sends us back to the stone age and kills any immediate signing of a foreign coach. Choke, PBA and SBP will have inflated egos even larger than the already-ginormous ones they currently have.

That's what I'm worried about. An Olympic berth and a successful WC will convince the SBP to stay the course, even though the ship is only good for a few miles before sinking. Rebuilding might be out of the picture.

But, man, as a Filipino, I have to back our NT (which does sometimes mean having to criticize them for wrong decisions). It's just, the bullshit is making it a challenge to support. At least the Malditas have a good thing going, they hired another Aussie coach, and someone who had reached the finals in the women's A-League.

If that's the job description, I'd have gone for Abueva. Give him year-long shooting drills until he's shooting in his dreams. He's longer, more athletic and more annoying than Pogoy.

He's certainly more annoying and cray cray, a lot more athletic and probably becomes our best rebounder. And he'll probably hit the same number of 3s Pogoy will in the WC with or without the additional training.

                • Forget them 3's. His patented "Nganga" move will be annoyance gold.

                  AHAHAHA!

lol true. tab has been telling this all along but got heat instead. pinoy coaches have this mentality of being on high table.

Maybe, just maybe, they dont want a foreigner saying this to the fans. Pinagsasabihan tayo. Quite frankly, i take this more as a criticism, so it doesnt matter who says it. But alas, we are "just" fans.

I wonder if strong group and chooks to go can join forces and take over sbp instead of smb? Strong has the delta bridge via their psasand converge teams as well as the ctb bridge since Lao was a former player of the said coach. Even Coach Rajko has a connection. Lao is supporting csb whose hc is former asst of coach rajko. Pretty sure if they can get cabbagie onboard they would have a decent starting point if ever.

that was actually criticism but when you think you sit on high table, eh masasaktan ka talaga.but if you think logically tab was right all along. why would they think pinoy coaches are better? did we see pinoy coaches in CBA or any other asian leages? or any international leagues? if pinoy coaches are better then we wouldve seen a lot of them coaching many national teams.

In a way, Pinoy coaches can be as good as some of the foreign coaches. Maybe surpass ctb. But we really dont expose our coaches to international games on a conaistent basis. The best pinot coach for FIBA IS CCr, why? He has the most experience. But me thinks, a coach ayo or coach charles, or insert name of coach here can be better if we have a way to consistenly expose them to FIBA competition. Coach charles was an asst of coach rajko, he was able to coach in the dubai games. Maybe get him involve more. Kahit asst lng muna in one ofbthe you teams. Coach gavina is hc for a taiwan team. Again, someone involve him. U16? Talk to coach Jimmy Alapag, can he do u18? I dont know a good solution as i dont have enougj facts, but if we want a more successful local coach, they have get more international reps. If we can send some to other countries do so, and someone get then to do coaching clinics back home to transfer any new technology.

If the powers that bes feelings got hurt, use it to fuel the will to be better in a sustainable manner. There is a way, but itll take time. Coach caloy should tale over coach yeng. He and coach topex were asst of ctb. Let them show what they learned and merge it with their kind of coaching. Kaya yan.

Very much agree with U with these bro.

Young coaches like Aldin Ayo, Goldwin Monteverde, Charles Tiu, Jamike Jarin, Jeff Napa, should be named as assistant coaches to our Gilas senior team or being head coaches & asst. coaches of our youth teams (U-18/19, U-16/17). Hindi yung monopolized ng mga mag amang Reyes yung coaching jobs ng national team in senior & youth levels & both of them hasn't produced good results lately.
"A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

ay oo naman. thats true. our pinoy coaches "can" be as good. tbh i think topex and monteverde and ayo is as good as ctb. the problem is that we need our coaches to be exposed to internaional training and games.

Thing is, are these coaches in the BCAP circle? That aside, yep, our promising coaches should be exposed and made assistants to veteran FIBA coaches like Nenad.
