When I mean ignore, I'm thinking they'll send Josh Reyes and a bunch of college players because the PBA will be deep into the Commissioner's Cup while there will be a FIBA International window from November 20 - 28. Last time, we had guys like Thirdy and Kiefer play games for Gilas and spent the remaining days in the country on a short vacation. Whether or not that team will be competitive enough for Asia remains to be seen, but definitely the entire SBP will be jaded after going through both the World Cup and Asian Games.Originally posted by CoJ View PostHeck, Brownlee might not be even available on the upcoming Windows. Feels like we won't be qualifying for the FIBA World Cup for another 4 decades again
Might be easier to force executives out than politicians, might as well start a protest movement.

If for instance Iskati Thompson won't make it becoz of his injured hand (well I hope he makes it), and Kiefer Ravena doesn't make it to the final-12 man roster either, would this be the 1st time that a Philippine national team bound for a major tournament would be without a natural/legit point guard? Let's be honest, neither CJ Perez nor Newsome nor Rayray Parks are natural point guards. Coach Chot hinted that he might play Clarkson at the point guard spot at times. I don't expect that's gonna happen. Clarkson's just too valuable a scorer & offensive threat to play the point."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. SBP is a full time job....schedule is jampacked.
Cannot hire people with side jobs...Al, Barrios, Chot even Tim Cone.
Should be a dedicated group that are passionate like us fans and hopefully little to none corruption and favoritism involve....in an ideal world that is

In Iran's tune-up games vs. Russia where Iran lost both games (59-72 & 57-71), the top scorer of Iran in both games is Mohammad Amini, who scored 17 & 20 pts., respectively. The 6-foot-7 Amini was the standout of Iran's U-16 & U-18 teams from last year.
I think he's not part of the Iran team-B team that played in the recent pocket tournament in China where Gilas also played."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Granted that it has been almost a decade since but there were some games of JC in the past in an LAL uniform shouldering most of PG duties whenever he was on the floor, and it's not just some NBA-level ball handling he exhibited but that of a legit NBA point guard. I can't remember his on-court decisions though if it was good enough (probably not back then as the Lakers were a sub-20 game winner when he was with them), as it's mostly his offensive prowess that was on display. Too bad though, we don't have someone else in the same level of JC, offense-wise, so tasking him to do it all on offense may have adverse effects for Gilas all tournament long.

I think JC will best be slotted at SG as a combo guard with Dwight at SF, Edu at PF and either Kai or Japeth at C. Scottie has been idle for a long time that although I hope he can start but until we see him in the next tuneups I don't think he is a shooin to start. The problem is all our PG's have big question marks. CJ - defense and decision making. Newsome - scoring and shooting. Kiefer - slow and short. Bollick shouldve been in the pool as along with CJ he did well in the last WC. But oh well PBA politics.
For the SG-SF JC,Parks,Dwight & Malonzo could share duties
Then Malonzo,AJ,Jap,JF & Kai alternating the 4-5 spots depending on the match ups

I see an abundance of talent in Philippine baskstball at the four position in the 23-year old & under age category. U got players like Tamayo, Kevin Quiambao, Mason Amos, Kai Balungay & Mike Philipps in there. The only hicup is that Balungay & Philipps are both ineligible for now. Hope these 2 guys gets FIBA exception in a few years."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. A natural 3 with good size is the key to having a balance strong Gilas, most of the time they rely on 4s to play combo forward, that's all but a couple of permanent 6'6 or above SF,is badly needed.
