The dialogue with FiBA central has already started, no it hasn't been rejected outright , but advice was given that not yet, this is a very different case with Clarkson, Standhardinger etc , who already have been given rejection letter and the reasons why clearly indicated ( no residency, age etc) , so you can imagine how annoyed FIBA central will be if we submitted Brownlee application, which does not meet the criteria they already explicitly cited in rejection cases , and say BTW we want the decision approved by August , hinting we demand a favorable decision in reuturn for us hosting. That's downright dubious.

    • Vargas is like an eligible bachelor who would prefer a one-night-stand girl than a housewife material one.
Panandaliang aliw lang ang hanap sa babae.

Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

Ah ok. So with the cases of Clarkson & Standardinger, busted na talaga outright, which means no chance in the world kasi sabi ng magandang babae, "You didn't pass my standards".

On the other hand with Kouame's case, merong chance but not at this moment. Its like that same pretty girl saying, "I like you but I'm not yet ready for now, so you have to wait".

Good that you make this clear.

Fiba is just waiting for Kouame to play like local to deserve excemption.. kung sobrang galing yan outright rejection yan.. thats fiba logic for you, if he is below par yes his basketball heriate is from Philippines hahah.. I think what went wrong with analyzed idea is he didnt wait, the moment we get kouames naturalization which is highly publicized in media you lobbied for local exemption)

Absurd but actually very realistic hahahaha In principle the Sec Gen office should be independent but what if his "office" makes a call and ask for insights on our request with China and/or a Japan because of "goodwill" as Japan is also a host for this year and China is well China lol

totoo naman.. clarkson name was floated when he was what 22.. you just gave him a condo address and bgc that he can live during season and voila but it isnt the case, the real reason is that Standhardinger and Clarkson are good no ifs no buts that other nsa would outright reject the idea..

If Philipps and Kouame signed PBA contracts committed they will only play in the PBA (enter the draft ). , 100 % guaranteed Vargas and Panilio will be screaming announcing of their brilliant idea to ask for exceptions for both. JUST birilant ang galing. Geez what has the SBP turned into..!!

Notice how all of Tab's dealings were with MVP directly. Never with Panlilio or Vargas.

CTB losing the GIlas HC position is on Panlilio. No one else.
Panlilio and Vargas are top PBA executives. Against the self-interest of the PBA, e. I think they, along with Boss Chua, just want the PBA well-represented even without full-time commitment from the league.

Tab's success with non-PBA guys will lead to the team not needing the PBA, like live_evil had said. That will be another dent in the PBA's image.

Like I said, the only useful PBA players for FIBA at this point are Scottie, Japeth, Marcio, Newsome, and Malonzo. Perez is too inconsistent, and Oftana hasn't gotten enough reps. We need to have non-PBA players for a more competitive team, because many other PBA stars don't cut it anymore, or really don't cut it.

                      • A more accurate analogy is the sec general girl bring courted has already given her criteria and rejection, must be 6 feet and 25-year-old etc, U may not believe her , thst is the reason, but Brownlee courting is like a 4'11 , 50 year old man applying . Serious. If she accepts the suitors then she should accept every Japan and Chinese 5 foot , 50 years old

PBA representation isn't really a problem if only they had quality. I don't hate the PBA. I hate the idiots running the Liga and the dumb rules they have like that 6'6 height limit. Also, it's not like they were willing to cooperate on Gilas practices and calendar adjustments in the first place.

                          Bolick too but he's leaving.

I like Arvin T as a role player who can shoot threes off a swing pass. He has size and range.

Well, Kouame isn't subrang galing, which would be good if your theory about FIBA is right. I think Kouame is more of a role player than a go-to-guy. He's no Marcus Douthit or Dray Blatche or Cardo Rattlife.

Is Arvin Tolentino any better than Calvin Oftana? Oftana is a natural small forward while Tolentino is more of combo forward.

To be fair, it's the executives and leadership I also have a problem with, and how they influence Gilas. I have a problem with the lack of cooperation and adjustments, the All-Filipino tournament being part of the regular season, and the height limits. It's fucking dumb.

As for Bolick, I already considered him non-PBA the moment that he was a free agent. If Will Navarro stayed, he's one of the few I'd consider also. But, he's out of contract, so he's non-PBA now. Apart from them, and the guys we mentioned, not many FIBA-quality PBA players at this point.
