Let coach Chot Reyes prove me wrong especially in the coming 2023 World Cup. I would love to be proven wrong."A king may move a man, a father may claim a son, but that man can also move himself, and only then does that man truly begin his own game. Remember that howsoever you are played or by whom, your soul is in your keeping alone, even though those who presume to play you be kings or men of power, when you stand before God, you cannot say, 'But I was told by others to do thus,' or that virtue was not convenient at the time. This will not suffice." - King Baldwin IV

I would say we have better material than year's past, but if the goal is world level competitiveness, i do believe we have systemic issues in churning out material. The Philippine basketball eco system does not foster sound development , especially not at the rate others are doing

Basta, someone that can coach a physical defensive team that defends without fouling, and practice defensive rotations that are on point, and also preaches finding the open man while allowing shot creators to flourish. Hope we find someone that inculcates this identity in the youth teams as well.

Problema lang would be the resistance of bigwigs like Panlilio, Vargas, and Chua.Last edited by IPC; 05-11-2023, 04:20 AM.

I think kung materyales lang ang pag-uusapan, our current pool of talents could at least match up (or even be better) with the golden generation Iran national team led by Haddadi, Bahrami & Kamrani during the late 2000's & early 2010's.
Or is the recent PBA rejection of Delta Pineda as Converge team governor part of it? Are MVP and SMC threatened by him?

I do hope after this world cup there would be a much needed shake up in terms of SBP personnel. I think Alfrancis Chua will assume the post as the program director and elevate Tim Cone as the head coach while giving the reins of the youth team to Jong Uichico. And I think this shake up would affect how the PBA is ran as well, Im pretty sure with all the major stakeholders in Philippiine basketball interests aligning there could be changes made to the PBA that would benefit the national team program.お元気ですか?

Delta has the money and influence to not be intimated by the big company teams, and he has this known grip over players that are based in pampanga. And if the rumors are true that the vote was around 6 (SMB, Ginebra, Magnolia, Terrafirma, Northport and Phoenix) to 5 then the SMB block is the one most likely blocking Pineda's appointment
